Is PSXeven best than ePSXe ?

What do you think ? I played all megaman psx games on ePSXe and its perfectly but I wonder if this emu is better than ePSXe ? Be honest, thank you ;)

It's all opinion. What cares, just as long as it plays the games fine its fine by me. Try out psxeven and then compare it to epsxe, don't expect opinions of others to help you much, in the end, its your opinion of it that matters.

Np, i guess, but just try out and see which one you feel is better. Opinions vary widely on this forum and its not really going to get you anywhere.

One will say 'this one' is better, someone else will say 'that one' is better. Also the PC systems vary differently also, so some emulators might work differently on others, so they might think that emulator (being epsxe or ps7) is better for them, because it works better on thier system.

The only way you can decide for yourself is to try out both emulators with basically the same configurations and see which performs better.

But in answer to your question from the beginning, I saw Epsxe is better for me, but then again I haven't played much with psxeven with megaman games. But with the games that I did use, its pretty good also.

I will check this psxeven out too because I never tried it. Oh, is bios ever show sony logo on the screen like real sony console did ? ePSXe cannot do that..it just appear games instead of appearing sony logo like real console did when u turn it on and appear on t.v. screen, you know ? :)

I don't think psxeven shows it either, but if you load the bios in epsxe to access the memory cards you will see the bios screen.

One feature that I really like about PSXeven is that when you save to your memory card during your game, it writes the memory card file back to your hard disk immediatley (ePSXe writes the file to your hard disk when you press ESC to go back to the GUI).

What this means is that if the emulator crashes, you do not loose your save games (with ePSXe all changes you made to your memory card since you last pressed ESC are lost). Also, with PSXeven you can safely press the 'X' button to close the graphics plugin window without fear of loosing saves too :)

i think epsxe is better and besides psxeven is just progressing but fast, well i think,but soon enough im very sure it can surpassed epsxe.

Use the -slowboot command line. It'll show the Sony logo perfectly.

BTW, I use ePSXe more often (just a question of habit), but PSXeven is a great emulator and I like to use it too(I still have to try the 1.15 version, though). But as Dark Zero said, in the end it's a matter of opinion (and ePSXe is better in slower systems).

You have to add it either through command lines, or simply, right click a short-cut, and add it to the properties tab after the target line. Lemme know if you rather want a picture to show how.

I cannot figure it out. What is else way ? Because I dont see slowboot in epsxe because I put epsxe in my CDRW to increase the space of my HD on computer that why.

Make a shortcut to the file on the CD.....then do just like the picture shows.....

And PSXeven is my fav, but that's just because of frequent updates, very good compatibility, and awesome interface/GUI.....other than that, it's just good.....:heh:

That is availabe ONLY in the short cut you add it to, if you want, open a command window (dos, or command.com) and run epsxe throught there with the command -slowboot already there. There are also some GUI's for epsxe that allows you to do this, but I find the short-cut idea simpler. So just stay with it. If you want, since u said u have epsxe on the cd, just leave a short-cut of it on the desktop with the command like the picture.


Oh, yeah, you still need to keep the "original" exe as thats the program. If it was another "short-cut" then it would be up to you to delete it.

ePSXE and PSXeven are both great. What one may not do the other one probably will. Between them both you just about have the equivalant of a virtual PSX in you PC. Use both equally and enjoy.

PSXeven is really, really good! I haven't had any problems with it till now. And, there are quite a few games that work in PSXeven that don't in ePSXe (or with less bugs)....but, ePSXe does play some games slightly better....

PSXeven will play games that ePSXe won't play and has better timing, but ultimately, ePSXe is faster (400 over 200FPS on my machine).

to me it seems that epsxe has slightly better image qualtiy, but i must be on crack cuz its all the same plugins (maybe i'll post shots of Smack Down! where i noticed it). I also realized that psxeven is slower than epsxe through this game (on full load i get 50 fps in psxeven while i get 60 fps w/ epsxe). Psxeven does however have a higher compatibility (from what i've tested) and plays mdecs a little better (in smack down!...yes i'm addicted). So all in all i'd say these 2 emulators are pulling pretty even. then we have the controller plugin system included in psxeven, which i just have to give props for, i love it.
