Should we make such a list for the current PS7 release ? (0.13 i think)

I have no results myself at the moment , but working on it . Perheps you should post names of working games with some details on it . Exmaple : "Tekken 3 (SCPH 7502,Pete's OGL,PEOPS SPU,PEOPS CDR)"

Violineb

OK I'll go ahead and start on it. Actually I'm going to write a very very very long huge guide "The complete guide to Emulation for Complete Idiots" Anyway do I have to test the CD plugin too? I have everything in ISO :(

chaosblade
March 19th, 2003, 01:16
Nah Dont Think it should mean much . Bios, Gpu, Spu .

Thanatos
March 19th, 2003, 06:34
I agree. Let us start a list.

I'll be happy to assist too, if you like me to. Just let me know.

I'm working on my collection right now. I won't bother to post a partial list, but let's just say it looks promising

Can I help. Where do I send in my list?

Thanatos
March 24th, 2003, 20:09
I can compile the list. Just shoot me an email or catch me on AIM and send it on over. We'll assume that most people have decent configuration skills, but note any really strange options/configuration hassles.

chaosblade
March 24th, 2003, 22:21
well , admin make this sticky , and start posting it here .
once in awhile ill try to collect them all , and compile a list .

Let me know if u wanna do this .. since PSXeven was discontinued as you know .. but im still making the effort in honor of Xeven.

March 26th, 2003, 15:41
agreed :) eventhough ps7 is discontinued that doesn't mean it's dead, it's more flexible than most people realize :)

here are some games that I have that run in ps7 :)

Hokutono ken shin ken (ntsc j) - Works good ^_^
Ace Combat 3 (ntsc u/s) - Works perfect
Gundam Battle Assult 2 (ntsc u/c) - Needs frame limiter turned off and Wait For Xa buffer free turned ON in Eternal SPU
Inyushia - Works perfectly ^_^
Macross Do You Remember love - Works great!
Xenogears - passes dream sequence, still has freeze at 1st Deus battle (all emus do this...we'll see)

....
more games to come ^_^

hey, you're just in luck. Despite the recent developements, I was going to just delete it, but I kept it just in case ;) It's quite a good layout in my opinion.

If possible, I would like to do some of the work ;) I've been quite bored staring at the wallpaper :p

Great Work Kirby !

im sure Xeven appriciates this as much as we appriciate him .

ill try to get my report in quickly .. though most of my games are nowwhere to be found .

but i wanna try Legend Of Dragoon .. it had so many problems on most emus ..

March 26th, 2003, 16:47

ty ;)

>im sure Xeven appriciates this as much as we appriciate him
He's not really into compliments at this time. I had a talk with Lord Kane over IRC, he said there was no reason to do a report with private releases. So if it's OK, we can dedicate all out efforts into 1 version release

Xeven

yep, thanks guys. :)

I hope. if not .. start from scratch :)
i didnt play TLOD for a very long time .. ill prolly start again to get into the story .

[EDIT] : Found two bugs so far with TLOD .

when you are preforming an Addition (Combo) , and the enemy counter-attacks , if you block his counterattack and keep the combo alive , the camera takes a trip .. just looks somewhere else and not where it should .
2nd 'bug' - after you win a battle the music is cut instantionsly - insted of playing the victory music .

Hrmm. Seems like the OD set too low ..
OD being Offscreen Drawing (GPU option) , set it to 2-3-4 and see what happens .

I think Xeven screwed something up. Let me try v.13

EDIT:
yup Xeven drank too much Batard beer and screwed up some of the emu. I don't blame him but I just bring it to his attention. BTW two things.
#1 Does anyone see an improvement in version .14b
#2 Should I do the compatability list with version .13 or what?

Violineb
April 12th, 2003, 13:21
Added two games to the list of Kirby.
Had to double post. Sorry

chaosblade
April 12th, 2003, 13:52
No, i think we should make the list for the recent version .

I'm doing my best to set up a form on one of my geocities sites. I'll have it up soon (hopefully that pagebuilder still works :p )

edit> I completed the main layout. I don't have time at the moment to do some optimization work, but I should be able to post the link by Mondya ;)

chaosblade
April 12th, 2003, 21:18
A form eh ? that would be great .
perheps one of us could assit Xeven , put a form like this on his site , so ppl can put in the reports and on of us will sort them out .

The games I have tested all work, I have tried them with Pete's plugins, Pete's sound, and Pete's CDR. Played each one for about half an hour minimum.

I will just post them here as there aren't that many.

1. FF 7
2. FF 6
3. FF 5
4. Breath of Fire 3
5. Chocobo's Dungeon 2 (:p)
6. Dino Crisis

Here is a temporary page that should help to submit yur info to me. I'm working on a frontpage version, but I would need hosting that has the Frontpage Server Extension. So would Bobbi or Keith please stand up :heh:

*no need for this anymore*

I put my Dragoon report in there , hope it worked :)

Kurbster

works like a charm (until I run out of bandwidth :p )

Question for chaosblade: it says that you used a ISO. You don't have to fill in the CD plugin section unless you are using mooby's plugin ;)

one more thing: I'm gonna assume that everyone is using PSXeven 0.14 until I create the other form ;)

chaosblade
April 14th, 2003, 15:47
you should make it a select thing .
if iso , then mark the iso_true thing .
if its a cd , fill in the cdplugin name and mark that .

I just got talking with Bobbi over IRC. With the upcoming Ngemu 2.0, there will be a PSXeven compatability section that will probably be 10 times better than anything I can make on Dreamweaver. So basicly this project is on a "solid hold" meaning that there is a good chance it might not start back up again if the PHP script is indeed better.

I am sorry for the minutes wasted that you put into these reports :(

And about me and ChaosBlade, I will try to talk with bobbi about possibly helping out that section as much as possible ;)

chaosblade
April 15th, 2003, 15:57
Oh dont worry about my time , i got too much as it is . and i enjoy helping where i can , especially for a great emu like PSXeven and a great guy like Xeven :)

I ran out of time after talking with Bobbi. I will not be taking any more reports, However I will be able to post the reports I have so far into the new script. Meaning that you don't have to type them again ;)

As it stands, it looks like me and Chaosblade will take care of the PSXeven part of the compatability section, starting with the release of Ngemu 2.0.

chaosblade
April 15th, 2003, 18:33

At all ? or until NGEmu 2.0 is up and ready ?

I won't be taking anything more from that geocities form I posted a while back (that's why I deleted it ;) ) The Ngemu script will handle everything, when 2.0 gets released. Since me and chaosblade will have admin access to the PSXeven section, I can post the reports I have currently (I have about 4 or 5 from other members other than me)

But in conclusion, hold off until 2.0 is released. The new script will take care of everything.

Heck PSXeven rocks! Glad he started updated it because it is a sublime piece of work. I appreciate how he spends his time out of Real LifeŠ to create such a masterpiece. Ok so enough flattery. I got Xenogears to work and I'm about 10 hours into it. By the way, I LOVE XENOGEARS! Wish there was a ps2 emulator for Xenosaga... Anyways, that's my addition to the compatability list, and I'm not sure if it's already been mentioned before. Oh well. Great work man. Thanks for all your hard effort for those who are too lazy to own a playstation. Or is it just me?

Xeven. I tried Vandal Hearts 2 again. It seems to be working better in version .14. spells arent kilcking me out of the emu anymore. the game is still really buggy and only really playable (tollerable) with kazuya's gpu right now. peops and petes just act too weird. its hard to explain if you dont have the game infront of you. i'll post screens if you want.

lilxboby let me know if you can get past the dangling pendilum dream sceen in xenogears. it should be coming up in the next few hours.

chaosblade
April 20th, 2003, 15:07
Thx for all of your reports , but just hold on a little longer (or much longer, depends) until NGEmu v2 is up so we can actully post these reports . But im sure Xeven appriciates your effort :)

ebola
April 20th, 2003, 21:35
I tried vandal hearts 2 yesterday with .14. It seems to work better (magic doesnt kick you out of the emu). There are still a ton of weird graphic glitches when it splitscreens durring attacks and sometimes characters dissapear or they switch places with enemies. Only the Kazuya gpu is really useable. pete's plugins cant handle the split screen.

chaosblade
April 20th, 2003, 21:58

Kinda took a hiatus there guys--sorry about that. In reading the discussion in this thread, I have a few comments. Well, at least one.

There's no garauntee that the upcoming NGEmu compatability list will be as complete as we could make one. Or, perhaps, some people won't want to sort through all the features that NGEmu might include.

Anyway, I encourage the continued development of a compatability list. Maybe we should just call it information gathering, as we're not sure exactly how to compile the information as yet. If you'd like me to take over the work, I'd be glad to. I have some webspace that I can use to this end.

chaosblade
May 24th, 2003, 21:43
Well we are doing this as a part of NGEmu .. so it will be on NGEmu and not on a private site , though you're welcome to open your own site about PSXeven , im sure xeven would be glad :)

And neither i nor Kirby ever said we dont want to sort them anymore - reverse that - we are quite happy to being able to help xeven and NGEmu out .

Thanatos
May 25th, 2003, 17:02
ChaosBlade: I understand that it's part of, with, and for NGEmu. I also understand that it wouldn't be posted on private space. The space I have would simply be for the information gathering and development purposes--a place where people can go to check the status or give opinions.

chaosblade
May 25th, 2003, 17:40
Well Bobbi is the guy to talk with . me and kirby are just gonna review the info and sort it . if you want to help or contribute in any other way , im sure it will be welcomed , like i said , talk with dixon/bobbi/NGEmu staff .

I haven't checked the whole list, so I apologize If am repeating anything. I just downloaded PS7 today. My main test for emu's is Soul Blade, It works great, hidden characters load, but I still have glitchy sound like I get with PCSX.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Ermacthank you for taking out some time to help out, but this project has been dead for quite a while now. This project started back in NGemu v1....but ever since v2 came out, PSXeven is now supported in the compability database. The script itself still doesn't work, so submitting it would be useless at the moment

Just wondering if anyone knows if Brigandine works with this emu? I'm aware it could be the file that's corrupt, but who knows? Also, does Front Mission 3 work faster on this one?

hushypushy
August 13th, 2004, 04:51
the best way to know for sure is to try them out for yourself. you should also check out ePSXe as it is more compatible and IMO easier to use.

last note: don't revive old threads, please. i'm keeping this one open just in case another (useful) query comes up ;)

PDPohlman
August 13th, 2004, 05:14
Heh apologies, didn't see the old one. I know ePSXe has a bug where Brigandine crashes at battle-start, so who knows? I was just figuring that this might work just a little bit better and someone might know if the bug was fixed.

BTW Nice Kurt Cobain. Very nice.

hushypushy
August 13th, 2004, 06:06
well, the best way to see it if works is just to try ;)

and if you cant get it to work...just make a thread asking specifically about Brigandine. however, most likely, your question wont get answered in a year old thread.
