Nice, I see that he is using the 9800 driver path by default, which means these drivers should perform about 5-10% (mainly with FSAA and aniso enabled) faster than the regular Catalyst 3.2.

I hope sxamiga really try these drivers, the 9700 Pro to 9800 hack seems interesting for D3D preformance. Let's wait for his tests.

Does they resolve the exit of the emus when using pete's OGL? with ATI8500?

EDIT: No they don't correct the pb...

Yes, I saw the new and I'm downloading them right now. But I wonder, will using the 9800 driver path do anything for my 9700 pro or is this only for 9800 cards? (which I don't have).
Yes Phoenix, I will give these test and see what they can do. I'll let you all know what I find out. Thanks 501XX for the news.
sincerely,

maybe it means the drivers trick the the 9700 pro to think its a 9800, it says it will give u a big speed increase, u never kno until u try them sxamiga :)

Very wise words yeloazndevil and ones to live by as well. If you are not willing to take a chance now and then, you may be missing a lot.:) Don't worry, I going to try them allright. I wouldn't be downloading them if i wasn't going to try them and I'll give them a very fair test to boot.:)
sincerely,

yes, you're right. Maybe some kind of 9800 emulation (actually the 9800's pipeline is enabled) if I'm not mistaken.

Well guys, I downloaded them, installed them, and uninstalled them. The reason is that the resolutions are goofy. I tried setting my resolution to 960x720 (which I am currently using w/the offical drivers) and when I did, it put my desktop into an oversize mode, where my desktop was larger than my screen. I had to scroll around to see all of the screen. Also I couldn't set it to 60 hz (which may or may not have helped the problem) the only hz modes available were 70, 85, or 90. So, since I like my 960x720 resoultion at 60 hz and having my desktop the proper size, I'll not be using these drivers until or if this is fixed.
sincerely,
