Funny that.....VBA works fine with GB, GBC and now,(finally after messing around a little...and with the help of some, like Forgotten ;) ), GBA is fine. Well, I guess it depends on each persons machine...

AMD 1700XP (running around 1470Mhz (varies up/down about 30 megs)
1536MB of PC2100 DDR RAM
GeForce4 Ti4600 128MB Vid card
WinXP Professional
SB Live 5.1

Might it be my sound card?

Very nice rig, Duality.

But, I don't think it's your sound card......it could be something to do with some settings you've enabled/disabled....

Check this thread of mine,

http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32454

and try use the settings I used to get VBA runnig sweet for me. :)

Try using my registry file for VBA 1.4 to see if it helps... you'll just have to change a couple things to get it working.

Problems can be because of auto frameskip (your computer should be fast enough), so make sure auto frameskip is not checked.

And sound drivers can cause problems as VBA synchronizes the speed by making sure it doesn't overwrite playing sound.

Why not use Forgotten's Visual Boy ;) for GB/GBC if VBA gives you some trouble
