As some of you know InterAct(maker of GameShark) had announced its going out of business as of 1/14/03...

Datel (http://www.codejunkies.com/) however announced on 1/20/03 that they would continue to support GameShark products:
Datel is the developer behind GameShark and naturally the only credible source capable of creating new codes that are 100% compatible with both the new Action Replay and previously sold GameSharks", says Ken Tarolla, Senior Vice President of Datel Design & Development. "We feel it is our responsibility to support the large and loyal following of current GameShark owners that have supported us over the years. Action Replay is not so much a new beginning as it is the next step in the evolution of where Datel intends to take the game enhancement category. We are confident that current GameShark owners will move with us in short order to take advantage of the new features and capabilities that only the new Action Replay provides. Until that time, we will not leave them behind. It has been announced (http://www.businesswire.com/cgi-bin/f_headline.cgi?bw.012303/230232093&ticker=MCZ&ticker=MCZ.TO) today that MadCatz has acquired the GameShark brand and the www.gameshark.com URL from InterAct. This acquisition should ensure the continuity of GameShark product supply.
Note: the GameShark website isn't back up quite yet.

Sounds like good news for the console and emulation gaming communities.

Let's hope that one day somebody is ripping the PSOne BIOS, since it looks much cooler than the old Playstation BIOS

There is absoultely nothing wrong w/the PSOne. I had one for a while and it is a great "little" console. Mauros Web, if you don't like the PSOne, then you must not care for the original PSX either. I say this becuase they are exactally the same except for the PSOne's smaller size and the Dual Shock controllers are exactally the same except that the ones for the PSOne say PSOne on them. The others do not. I have both controllers and I have compared them.
Adair, many thanks for the news. I have a GS for the PS2 but I saw an Action Replay at the local Target store. Since GS is going out, I think I will pick up the Action Replay. I also have a CD called Codebreaker that is actually easier to use than the GS. I have the GS and Codebreaker for my GBA as well and I like the Codebreaker a lot better for that system also.
F-3582, I agree w/Gotrunks, what did you mean by that statement? It makes absoulutely no sense at all. Would you care to enlighten us please?
sincerely,

Perhaps he's referring to how caetla can dump the BIOS from the big PSX versions, and that AR can (prolly) do the same with PSOne?

Not really sure how it could be done without opening up the PSOne.

Gameshark: Cheat util which can on older models of the PSX, rip the BIOS.
Datel: Makers of the original Action Replay cheat cartridge (More of a European thing).
