LMAO it adds 2 more weapons, a riot shield, a new map, 2 revamped maps, gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, the new vgui 2.0, and the steam system (which adds, buddy list, server browser, a nice interface, streamed updates and more ) a very nice update ;)

no, it´s open beta and it´s oficcial. but everything fell when they released, valve put only a 500mb link for the beta and you can imagine what happenned, i managed to download. 400mb!!!! but i still can´t play, it says the game is unavailable right now.

Steam 2.0 and CS 1.6 SUSPENDED . seems like you said, they ran out of bandwidth just from the downloads and are in the process of adding more bandwidth to their test servers . so we will just hold tight :)

I still havent had luck updating , but CS 1.5 works fine , and also i saw a couple of CS 1.6 BETA test servers ..

Well, I can get into the new vgui2, kewl. But I was too late, valve suspended it, as said b4. So, I thought yay, i get to beta test. But nope, they stopped giving out steam id's so, im screwed untill they start again. UG!

When trying to get into a game, I click connect, then I get this:

it installs on a different folder so you get both. 1.5 and 1.6

and Reichfuher i´m playing!!!!!!! :D the riot shield is so cool, just little cheap but cool :) . the only problem here is that everytime you try to connect on a game it goes check your files, a pain in the ass. keep trying, it´s working much much better for me now. :)

I love the shield too. I found my cs1.6 crashes when I connect to a server running aztec, airfield, and any other map not listed in the create game/server box.

need some help.. are any of you using counterstrike retail version?? anywayz.. first after dling the update i tried playing.. i saw the picture of the two ct people... but it seem to get stuck there... i get no menu -_- i restarted my comp.. and i tried it again and now it says cannot find hw.dll??

Dont even try to play if you dont have an older steam ID. If you just created a new ID then It wont let u connect to any servers. (at least for me).

And no, I have half-life, and downloaded the CS mod.

you can play with a new id, mine is brand new :) . vivpig i really can´t help you as mine worked perfectly after startup, try it some more times. it may work

vivrantpig no i have half life, but i think it doesn´t seem to use any file of my original game, it has a folder called steamcache, if you look into it you´ll see all the files needed to run the game, it must be something else, try deleting the files and getting it again.

All the 1.6 servers are full of ppl wanting to try out the new stuff. And yes, I agree, the galil is the best new one. Tactical Shield rox too.

Ahh, victory !

Steam logs in fast , and i have recieved the 410MB of update needed to play CS 1.6 .. all i can say that is im impressed with new UI , although the game is a bit slow , but that would be because of the fact that steam is heavily overloaded at the moment ..

found only one bug so far .. in the new de_aztec , under the bridge from the CT side, there's a small glitch in texture .

I shall continue to investigate as i can .. hold tight :)
