I live in Tampa Bay, Florida and I currently use TimeWarner's RoadRunner Cable Internet Service Provider. However, my cable sucks because cable is supposedly be on forr 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. But my cable seems to turn off and not connect once every week or 2. This has been making me mad since I've called the cable techinicans and they always come but the problem never gets solved. Its been happening for 7 months now. So now Im thinking of changing my ISP to some other cable company. Do you guys have any suggestions or awesome links to compare the cable providers in my area because there are so many. But also, who is your cable and/or DSL provider and how have they been treating you? Thanks! :)

I have Shaw Cable. Like Lord Kane, that's all I can get here, but they are pretty good. High speed, and not much crap to put up with. If your service is disconnected for any reason (Usually screwing with my computer pieces), just call them up and they fix it for you.

Got Verizon ADSL... And only disconnecting once every week or two doesn't sound all that bad. The service here seems to have stabilized but not too long ago the dsl modem would 'reboot' almost every time the phone rang. Gave me one more reason to hate telemarketers.

I live in Toronto, Ontario in Canada and I have Rogers cable, for both TV and internet. Rogers was good several years ago but lately they've been kinda slow. My maximum upload bandwidth is 25 kbps now, when it used to be 50 kbps only a year ago.

I also live in Toronto, Canada and I'm also with Rogers. When I first got it about 4 years ago, it was very nice, but it has gotten slower :/ But at least I dont have a bandwidth limit like new subscribers. :D

It's called 'Wananchi', which means 'Friends' in Swahili......yeah, very friendly.........downloading at 3.50KB/S.....tops.....not only that, but i'm charged for every minute for the use of the phone line, that's why you guys who have fast rates, but might pay per minute ,or not, are lucky bastards......man, the NET in KENYA SUCKS ASS!!!!!!!!

ditto to that... hell, my upload has been pure crap lately... 10 kb/s, not even. only reason why i got rogers is probably because i get a 50 % discount. :D

AT&T Broadband Internet. It was once good because the "old" download speed was something close to 300KB/s. However after Excite@Home crashed the speed was capped at approximately 190KB/s.

Cheaper, but it's a shared connection unlike ADSL. Get thousands of people downloading juarez and BAM!

Shaw here. I would probly have DSL if I could get it, but I live somewhat in the sticks, so cable is my only option. Has been pretty decent for me in the 8 months or so I have had it. I was one of the fist to subscribe and it was a tad slow at first, but got way faster about a month later, since they upgraded after a few fone calls ;)
I can regularly get 600+K/sec from nvidia.com and M$, since they are some of the fastest sites around. Its rated at 5000/512 but it will hit 6500+/700+ easily. I was just blown away when I switched from 56K, and I still get a smile when i see a cool 400+K/sec D/L goin...
