hi!

im a newbie and i need help with breath of fire 4. i manage to get the game running with the help of the suggestions in this board. now ive encountered a problem i can't find a solution to.

heres my prob: after i entered the cave in the cliff area (near the beginning of the game) my computer just freezes or i get an error message and i exit to windows. from what ive gathered (after trying other games), this only happens before a cutscene/movie although the intro movie played but had no sound.

im using the epsxe 1.52 and the recent plug-in pack (petesOGL 1.68, etc.). particularly im using the OGL for video, spu core for sound, the iso i made using blindwrite and bios is scph7502.

my system: intel 667MHz, 256SDRAM, geForce 2MX 64 Mb windows 98 second ed.

heres my video config:

Plugin: Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.1.68

Sounds like something else in your system is causing problems with ePSXe. Here are some things you can try:

* Close all programs from the system tray before entering the game
* Update your video and sound drivers to the newer versions
* If you have a VIA-based motherboard, install the latest 4-in-1 drivers from http://www.viaarena.com
* Reinstall DirectX

Go to Config -> Sound, and make sure you have both "Enable Sound" and "Enable XA Sound" checked. Also, make sure you DO NOT have "Enable SPU IRQ Hack" checked, as this causes problems with some games.
