I just ordered the Nforce 220d chipset mobo which comes with an integrated GeForce 2 vidcard. Is it any good?

The integrated video _can_ be a problem if you want to upgrade your video card. Other than that, what are the specs for the mobo? Better yet, what is the model number?

It has 1 AGP slot 3 Pci slots and supports 2 DDR Ram slots. The Model number is 220d

its a good board. Should perform a little bit faster and sometimes slower than Kt266A chipset.

Is the board meant for AMD or Intel chips? AMD has been slow on production. Intel is already (I think) at the 3 ghz level, whereas AMD is stuck around the 2.1 ghz level.
2 DDR slots should be sufficient. Two sticks of 256 megs of DDR should be fine.

Although AMD chips run at a much slower Mhz speed you have to take into account the fact that the Athlons do more work per clock than the Pentium 4. A 2.1 Ghz Athlon XP will run as fast as a P4 2.8 Ghz in most cases.

so it's a good buy right? So what Gpu card is the integrated Geforce card comparable to?

Probably a Geforce 2 MX 400.

Hmm, after reviewing the nForce it has come to my attention that the nForce 220 does not support dual-channel memory configurations (TwinBank architecture). If you plan to use the integrated graphics on the nForce you should get the nForce 420. The GPU performance of the nForce 220 is similar to a GeForce 2 MX 200, while the nForce 420 performs similar to a GeForce 2 MX 400.

But the card is good enough for Psx or N64 emulation right?

Yes, it should be. Just make sure to use fast RAM (PC2700, PC3200), since the speed of the system memory will ultimately determine the GPU performance.
