I ve read something very intersting and weird.
The new tuallatin p3 outclasses a p4 cadenced at a higher fequency...Guess that the x86 structure isn t lost yet..
For intel fans,
Check it out here:

I hate intel....
that s weird: i have a p3 :\
Amd is still the leader but I want to see the benchmarks of this newly p3...and compare it to the athlon Tbird.

this is OT message to Rargh.
I don't mean to be one of the nitpicking spellchecker people, but I noticed that when you mean to type "though" you type "tough" instead. Not that it bothered me. I just thought you may wanna know that.

It wouldn't be the first time that this was the case. 486 DX4 100's outperformed P60's in most tasks.

The Inquirer was not the first to make light on this issue, it was spoken about quite a few weeks ago on other sites.
Thanks for being clueless though, I really appreciate it.

CD that's not fair. How is he supposed to know if he's understood correctly or not? Do you expect him to ask about it every single time?
BTW when did he lash out? Certainly not in this thread.

That comment was only for when he didn't understand something, which he gave me the feeling he didn't, with his 'other langauge' comment. My comment was just fine, there was no need to reply to it, because if one thought they understood, they wouldn't fall under what my statement encompassed.
As for lashing out, perhaps that was too broad of statement, but I don't enjoy sarcastic comments from someone whom I've had troubles from in the past..

I started no trouble, I said one word, since Tulatins have been selling since late MAY, and articles about them have been around since a week or so after that.

I'm guessing that you're only using that till you come up with a good one. Erm... but if that is your permanent one... then um yeah that's... pretty cool.
BTW I got me a new avatar. Its Tatsumaru from Tenchu 2. I like it more than my old "big red cat" avatar. I like the sinister look. Makes me seem more like a Bringer of Chaos huh?

The Intel Pentium 3 processors are faster on a clock-per-clock basis than the Pentium 4 processors. This is a known fact. The Pentium 4 is based on a completely new design which is yet to be used by any of today's software(currently x86 code, which the P3 and Athlon are optimized for). Intel is hoping that developers will jump onto the P4 bandwagon and write software for SSE2. Although the P4 seems like an inferior product, it is actually very advanced technology. Likewise the nVidia GeForce 3 has some very new, very advanced stuff but is not that much faster than the GeForce 2 Ultra in most of today's games, and in the lower resolutions it actually runs a bit slower(GeForce 3 has the potential to be up to 7 times faster than the GF2 Ultra). This doesn't mean the GeForce 3 sucks, just there's no software that uses it properly.
The current generation of Pentium 4 processors are just to get the developers interested. They will not be the mainstream processors. Late this year or early next year Intel will release the Pentium 4 Northwood which will be their main CPU line. This is not an uncommon route for Intel. They've done this before with the Pentium Pro, which got horrible reviews because it ran current-generation software slower than the Pentium(even though it was based on the same P6 core as the P3 we have today) but it opened a path for the next generation of processors. When the P2 was released it was a huge success, because software companies were able to optimize their software for the 32bit P6 core. Intel is hoping for the same thing with the P4. The only problem is that with AMD, it's going to be harder for Intel to maintain their grip on the developers.

Flame wars are fun and games until someone loses an eye, and then they're just fun. To prevent any medical basis for suing, I'm going to have to close the thread, since two of the four pages have nothing to do with the topic...
Well, I thought it was three, but a valid addition to the thread was made at the end. ;)
