I've just discovered Project64 and am really impressed...playing in 1024x768 looks great compared to the fuzzy picture i get on my TV with my N64.

My only real nag is using my sidewinder pad isn't ideal for a lot of N64 games so i'm thinking of investing in an Adaptoid.

It seems a bit expensive, but if it allows me to use the N64 controller with full functionality it'll be worth it........so does anybody use an Adaptoid and is it really as good as it seems?

I use WinXP home edition by the way...i assume Adaptoid is fine with that?

Thanx
Marty.

I use a Boom adapter myself; good with both N64 and PSX pads. Though I don't personally own an Adaptoid, those that I know who have purchased one are constantly singing its praises. More expensive sure, but if Mempack and Rumble Pack support are important, go with the Adaptoid.:)

Do you know if the Boom adaptor is available anywhere in the UK?
I'm not too fussed about mempack and Rumble pack so it might be a good option....thanx.

I bought my Boom adapter from Lik-Sang (www.lik-sang.com), but you can also buy them through NGEmu (on the frontpage). Both methods offer international shipping.:)

I don't know man, my Boom adapter has been acting wierd.

First of all I just found out it doesn't support force-feedback, also, I can't calibrate my N64 controller because the buttons/axis are all constantly active. Then again, it could be my controllers (they're pretty beat up) even tho they work on my N64...

Also got mine through Lik-Sang in like 15 days.

"......It allows you to play all PC games designed to be played with joysticks. The PSX + N64™ USB Converter is compatible with the famous Dual Shock™ and Dual Shock 2™ pad and its analog features......"

This is what it says about Boom on Lik-Sang, so does Boom support dual shock force feedback or not?

And Psionic Chaos, what do you mean when you say that you couldn't calibrate the N64 controller because all the axis' and buttons were active?

The Boom adapters do not support force-feedback at all. Of course, the controller itself works just fine.

I've seen this happen twice, and both machines were running Win98 incidently. When you open up the Gaming Options all buttons are lit up. It's as if every button on the controller is being pressed simultaneously. I've never encountered such problems with my computer, perhaps because I use Win2k. :p

I eventually found the problem..

I guess with the BOOM adapter, the "active axis" problem occurs when both an N64 controller and a PSX controller are plugged into it simutaneously. I Believe it had something to do with power, and not having enough to power both controllers, even though only one can be active at a time. Most unfortunate...

So, just only plug one in at a time, and it works as it should:eyes:
