It seems like in my laptop, any game will freeze unless I hit escape and continue to get the CD spinning again. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Try playing from an ISO on your hd
it's more reliable

don't have any iso's on HD... any programs that will successfully create an ISO from a psx game disk?

Not really. In this case the original question was asking how to fix a bug in his laptops cd drive, not how to make an iso.

maybe the CD is getting hot... that's why it lagging...

Cd getting hot yes maybe. what is the cd plug in? Is it set for read ahead?
Does anybody know anything about cd drives firmware? and changing it?
