diectinput error

when I start a game up or attempt to modify the game controls I get an error stating

Init Error

Error Initialising DirectInput

followed by


Init

OLDDIRECTINPUTVERSION 8007047E

I'm guessing that this is a problem with my pc rather than my config of epsxe but I would welcome any help if it is something to do with epsxe or possibly an input plugin problem??

ps the error used the capitals so I copied them directly, it is not there to irritate anyone

reinstall directx......... either 8a or 7a......

Now all I need is a faster computer for even vaguely decent graphics or sound ^_^
