I have this problem of my screen saver turning on while im playing epsxe.
Now to solve it, i just turn my screen saver off but thats getting kind of annoying.
I was just wondering why the computer doesnt realize that its being used:confused: and turns the screen saver on.

What OS do you use?
Older OS might have that problem.

I think this happens because when you are playing an emulator, or any game for that matter, the cpu does not detect anything happening on screen. So, to protect the screen from burn in, the screen saver kicks in. I have had this happen while playing many emulators and actual PC games. So now I just leave my screen saver turned off. This has happened w/both Win 95 and Win 98.

actually its probably cuz it doesnt detect the mouse and keyboard moving
cuz on games like starcraft, and most of my other comp games besides emulators, i use both keyboard and the mouse and not the controller
but you would think that windows would realise that the controller is an input device and if its moving not to kick in the screen saver

do you really need that screen saver on at all? if you use emulation a lot, why don't you just turn it off altogther?

you would think so wouldnt you? :p
if you really want to, you can map keyboard controls to your controller. you can do this through the drivers that come with some pads, or you can get software that does this. this way, you can set up the emulators just to use the keyboard and not worry about the screensavers popping up.

the software for my controller isnt compatible with win 2k although the controller is supported by plug n play. i just cant map buttons to it and the rumble doesnt work. but thats the pay off for a more stable OS. also in win98 doing that would lock up the emu and stop the keyboard from working until i gave my comp a hard boot. i think the software was causing a conflict with the emu trying to fight it for control of the keyboard

I don't think that these new monitors burn the image... the burning happened only to those OLD "monitors" but i'm not sure... aaargh!

there is an option in windows that can suspend your monitor after a period of time, this might help you out.

unless you are using an old svga monitor, i really doubt the image will burn.
is your monitor energy star compliant? if it is, it should be fine.
