I have a problem in FF7 in the part at the end of Cid's memory thing (when the rocket is blasting off), where the screen fades into blackness and stays that way. No visuals, no audios, just black.

I came to this board looking for an answer. It happened with my friend's CD too and they are both in perfect condition. The rest of the game works perfectly, but because there is no way to skip the movie, we have been forced to stop playing.

I sent an e-mail to the programmer guys but they didn't respond. I didn't think they would either.

Here is some of the computer info:
My video card is a gForce2 so I think that a direct 3D plug-in would be best if there is one. Everything else in the game runs smoothly in 3Dfx and Glide even though I thought they wouldn't work. If you think it could be the bios, I have: scph1000, scph1001 and scph7502. Which would you recommend? My computer exceeds all of the mentioned requirements so I don't think the problem is there. The disk worked fine in my old playstation.

If anybody has a solution, please reply.

I agree with skyfreak, epsxe runs it fine.

Hello,

I had the same problem than yours: playing almost the entire 1st cd and after the rocket launch... nothing.

Since it was an emulator problem, simply converting a Adripsx save state to epsx would solve the problem, but there isn't any software (at least i didn't found any) that could do the trick. After editing both save state, i found that the only diference between both is that Adripsx saves each slot separately and epsx saves them in a virtual memory card all together, the code is exactly the same.

So, i've solved my problem following the next steps:

- create a new ff7 game in epsx and save in any save state;
- backup any Adripsx's save states;
- use any hex editor (in my case i used hhd hex editor 2.0 - http://www.hhdsoftware.com/) and copy everything in Adripsx's save state to the exact place in the epsx save state created in the 1st step (in hhd hex editor just find the beginning of the save state in epsx memory card - is just like the beginning of the Adripsx's save state - and paste)

If you have any question just mail me
