What do you think about vgs's future?

I wish VGS gained 3D support, I like the high compatability, even though by then if they ever do get 3D support, ePSXe will probably be a perfect emulator, or in other words, they'll still beat VGS:)

Hi
I would like to see light gun support via the mouse. Network, dial, Internet linkup. 3d graphics but keep the nice graphics that it already has.
Try not to introduce bugs. Better CD swapping support. Higher support for all region games. Keep the files that allow other users to make patches.
Save state support. Hot swappable options like in GPU plugins.

Just cross your fingers that the evil Sony doesn't decide to pick on ePSXe, now that both Bleem! and VGS are dead. I hope they don't have something like a priority list on who to pick on.

Think about it, over 50,000 people are using ePSXe (or at least have downloaded it). That's 50000 Playstations or PS Ones that aren't going to be sold. Which totals up to... (say, 1 PS One costs $100) 50,000X100=5,000,000! Four to five million bucks! Do you think that Sony's going to forgive them after those losses? I hope they do forgive them.

You're assuming that everyone that runs ePSXe does not have a PSX. I have one, and most of the people I know that use ePSXe have one, also... Emus are great, but until one hits 100% compatibility, I think I'll be keeping my PSX. ;)
Also, all of that $100/PSOne does not go to Sony, and not all of it is profit. They probably actually only make $10-$20 per unit sold... Granted, I'm sure they would still like to try to stop that, but as of yet, they have not gone after any free PSX Emus (Yes, I'm knocking on wood as I write this. :p). The only ones they've fought with were Connectix and bleem. I think they're much more worried about the power than the money. With something like ePSXe, as great as it is, it is still an "underground" type thing, because you have to DL the BIOS. It will probably never become a mainstream product, because of that. However, with VGS and bleem!, you had it being sold at Best Buy, EB, Babbages, etc... It was a direct opposition to the power that Sony held over the PSX "Empire."

There's no fear that :mad:SONY:mad: tries to stop ePSXe when the PS2 consoles are going to be more common... Or does Sony fear that there will
be ePS2e???

If Sony no longer cares about the PSX, because of the PS2, then why haven't they dropped their lawsuit against bleem? The PSX is still selling incredibly well (In fact, as of about 2 months ago, PSX games were selling more than any other console out, including the PS2!), and Sony still wants total control over it... While I agree that calb et al probably have nothing to worry about with ePSXe, I don't think Sony's indifference to the PSX is the reason...

Well, I have a PSX too, LanGaidin but it's only an assumption.

i really think that sony bought vgs to make profit out of selling it beside making it the best emulator everso it worth the price that it will be sold for.
and i think of the vgs like the best emulator in compatibility and if it got the 3d enhancing it will be the best emulator ever (sorry epsxe developers but its the truth).

I hope sony doesn't get rid of epsxe. That's the best psx emulater, well I think so. It would be great if it could be around long enough to make eps2e. That would probley be a goood emulator. If evil sonygets rid of epsxe, well then :fingers: sony.:)
