i know it sounds crazy, but what emulator should i use if i want a game to run at, say, 14 FPS? i have a fairly good system (look at sig) and even with limited speed, i cant hit F2 fast enough so that it only advances 1 animation frame.

if you want to know why, im trying to make a GIF of mario running sideways.

or, if all emus run it pretty quickly, is there any way to manually set the maximum speed for any of the emus, or record a movie of it or somthing?

I don't know... it's really strange to ask for slowdowns, but whatever. Apollo is the slowest for me, but I think that all current emus can run Mario64 without any problems, and quite fast.

There are some things you can do to slowdown the game, like running at damn high resolutions, disabling the Dynarec and running in the Interpretor mode, messing around with the settings (check the readme files and check all the options that contain something like "beware, enabling this option can cause slowdowns").

Another thing you could try is to open several programs and run them at the background while you're playing the emu. This should slowdown the emulation :)

Why don't get one of those Slowdown apps like MoSlo or something like that. But I haven't used that program so I don't know if it would work.
