I'm having some problems with alot of the games I'm playing for some reason, mostly slow down issues and some visual problems.
Here's what I'm workin with...
Pentium 4 1.4 Ghz
512 MB SDR Ram
32x CD-Rom
Win 98 SE
ATI Radeon 64MB AGP SDR
SB Live
Using Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.64 and I'm running the games off ISO's
Mainly, I've been having problems with Xenogears and FF8. I'm not sure if this is supposed to happen but in FF8 the characters look blocky and whenever they move it doesn't look smooth, rather like a bunch of jumbled polygons. Also, in Xenogears it's kind of the same thing but instead it's sprites. Kind of hard to explain.
In FF8 there is also a long loading period between battles.
I've tried tinkering around with the options all day but I can't get anything to fix these problems and they are annoying.
I can't get The Legend of Dragoon to even start for some reason, but it starts on my PSX.
Another thing, sometimes while I'm playing either FF8 or Xenogears the game will go slow for some reason but my computer isn't doing barely anything.
I was pretty sure my system requirements could handle them, but maybe I'm overlooking something. Even with all options turned as low as they can go I still get problems. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
