I use Microsoft Visual Studios 6 Ent. Edition but there are other as well, like Borland C++ 6. I can't really say which one's the best since I've only really used one.

I have tried about 5 of them. I would say that Visual C++ is by far the best. Especially if you are wanting to make Win32 programs.

I think Borland C++Builder is a bit easier to use.

i like to use Dev-C++
it can be found on sourceforge
it is relativly powerful and nice for its small size
for a beginner not on broadband i think it is the best bet instead of trying to dl and jump into ms visual studio or BOREland ;)
