FF IX trouble

When i run the game, everything goes fine, until i go to NEW GAME (if i don't do anything, it even shows me the characters pictures) when i sart, i only get a black screen, but if i press stars, the pause mesage can be seen.
I went to lord kane web page but i coudn't solve the problem. Which drivers and configurations work better with a geforce 2?

Also, i live in argentina, and the game they sell here, is a hacked one, translated to spanish, that may be the problem too, if so, is would it be posible to solve the problem with a cheat or ppf?

i'll try some more to fix it myself, but any help will be apreciated.

also, i use the latest petes video plugin, and iso (the cd has the same problem) and eternal sound plugin.

its a game, hacke by paradox i think, i did't know it was hacked. I don't understand the ppf thing or cheat thing, if somebody explains...

I did't buy it in spanish cause i wanted to, its the only one i could get, i knew it may had some trouble with ePSXe

when the game starts, it says presented by squarefofst europe (after the hacked by paradox thing) which ppf do i need? uk or spanish?

wich iso maker is the best if i need the subchanel thing?

as for the plugin, which works best with a geforce 2, no doubt Pete's opengl plugin is your best bet. Remember though to read the manual included in the archive, it has some fixes on FFIX.

i have everything configured. The trouble begins after i choose new game (as a said, black screen, but i i press start, the pause mesage apears)
I tried cdclone, but i can't even run the game with that progams image (probably due to a wrong configuration for making the image).
I tryed with both petes and epsxe cdr plugins (with and without read subchanels) andi tried using petes + clonecd to make the SBI or M3S files, but its did't work (again, maybe because i did't configure the clonecd correclty)
I am now sure that i have a pal cd (from europe)

I noticed two more things:
1- the correct ppf is the spanish one

2- The original SLES_**** files from each cd canot be copied, extracted or anything from them. Maybe that the trouble, missing data or something, i don't understand how it was posible 2 make isos of them without trouble, but the file can't be extracted from the cd or the iso :(

whats a kalisto version? how do i recognize it?

OK, as far as I understood, you are not playing an original copy of the game. Kalisto, as you asked, is a pirate version of the game. They are not good and usually emulators don't like them. Get an original copy of the game and try again, because it's very likely that your pirate copy has some problems.
