View Full Version : FMV sequences won't play in Megaman X6

NOTE: Just after I posted this thread, I tried out Megaman X4 and X5 just to see how they worked, and I noticed that this problem was also happening in them in addition to X6, so I've edited the contents of this post to include that information.

First of all, here's my configuration. I'm running the CD images of Megaman X4, X5 and X6 (which I've ripped from my own legit CDs, just so you know it's legal and all) with Mooby's CDR Plugin. As for audio and video, I'm using Eternal's SPU Plugin v1.30 and P.E.Op.S. Soft GPU Plugin v1.6. I ripped the CDs into a .BIN files as RAW images with ISO Buster.

As for hardware, I've got a VisionTek Xtasy GeForce4 Ti4600 video card, AMD Athlon XP 1600+ processor, Maxtor 40GB 7200RPM ATA-133 IDE hard drive, and some ****tly little Avance AC'97 audio chip integrated on my EPoX 8K3A motherboard for sound. Last but not least, my operating system is Windows XP Professional.

I did do a forum search and tried to pull up all the information I could on how to counteract this problem, but none of it seemed to work. I'm running ePSXe v1.5.2 with Batard v0.44, and I've already tried the "-adjusttiming" command line parameter.

One thing I'd like to add is that running the ePSXe GUI and running my CD images directly through the ePSXe GUI (File --> Run ISO) worked perfectly, but it's a pain in the neck to have to keep running the GUI whenever I want to play my Megaman games and I'd just like to get it working with Mooby's CDR Plugin if at all possible. If this turns out to be a problem with Mooby's CDR Plugin and not ePSXe, I guess I'll just have to report this bug to him in case he isn't already aware of it.

Thanks in advance for any help I can get.

Yep,I have the same problem. No sound and no movies, only the special effects sound. All emu's websites tell ya to look in this forums, but not eveybody we are coding genius. If they are,why they don't have the answer of their work?I know it takes time and is ¨freeware¨,but that would be the best solution that I just thought, but of course there are many more.

Well, I never expected someone to resurrect this old thread, but since you're having the same problem, I'll tell you how I fixed it.

In ePSXeCutor and Batard, there are options to set command line parameters. Type this in there:

-loadiso "D:\Emulation\Games\Sony Playstation\Megaman X6.bin"

Obviously, you'll need to replace that file path and file name with the applicable information for your specific system, but you get the idea. Also, you have to use another CD-ROM plugin, unfortunately. Just use Pete's, as it's indisputably the best one around anyway. It's the one I use, so I know there aren't any problems with it.

Hey guys stop fooling yourselves. You know as well as I do that you downloaded these games. There's no question about it, the only way for someone to have all 3 PSX megamanx games which happens to have their music and movies disable is by getting them off the net.

I'm sorry to tell you though, but you wasted your time because these aren't really complete games. They're more like demos in a sense. These types of games are generally called "rip", which means movies and music had to be cut or replace with dummy files to archeive a small compression sizes. All of your problems are not related to the emulator, it's just what you get for downloading games in the first place. I suggest you buy or rent the real games if you want to see the movies or hear the music.

You are an idiot. I already said I ripped these games from my legit CDs.

Sorry to disappoint you, but these are the full games which I purchased at my local video game store. You lose once again.

You are one stupid imbecile, aren't you? A "rip" of a game is when you take the binary contents of a CD-ROM bit-for-bit and put them into an "image file" which is a file that contains an exact duplicate of the data which is on the CD-ROM, including the stuff which aren't even visible as "files" on the CD-ROM, such as the boot sector. It has nothing to do with dummy files, cropping, compression and/or content removal.

Once again, I bought these games. And please take the time to read the entire god damned thread before posting, because if you did, you'd have seen that I already have remedied this problem.

In short, blow off you god damn **** disturber. We don't need your arrogant finger-pointing, nor did we ask for it in the first place. Go eat a dick.

PS: I hate your avatar.

And don't have a go at these guys, as what you have described does sound like an illegal copy.
