it wont run CD-ROM games...

I keep trying to run Final Fantasy 8&9 and it all runs ok... (im using the PSX discs) and it comes up with the illegal operation message and quits out of EPSXE. i wanted to know if there was a problem with running the F games, the EPSXE, or if i needed to copy thge game to a regular PC disc... any help will be appreciated.:(

What does the error message say? And no, there is no problems with running FF games.. I've run FF7 through 9 without any problems..

i used to have prob like that. everytimei press ESC then try togo back -illegal operation" try not press ESC once you've loaded the game. if u did try restarting ur comp, it worked for me b4. i dunno whats wrong about but i dont encounter that anymore

Same here, ff8 ran fine. Uh, post your specs and the error message. I bet its something to do with your system.ini if you run Win98. Otherwies, close most of your programs, run scandisk or something like that then try it.

Well, he didn't say he used Pete's DirectX plugins, so it still could be anything.

Try running it from an ISO.
