Hi Guys!!! ( And Gals, of course, hehe)

Following the Kane's suggest, - THANKS KANE! - I am writing here to report about a crash in Final Fantasy IX.

I am playing the "Pandemonium" Chapter, after the long dialog between Zidane and Garland, in the third CD. The crash occurs when Zidane faces a monster similar a horse, exactly at the time that the monster throws a Bio spell. Then, a ePSXe crash occurs. The ePSXe's GUI window closes and only DOS's window stays opened, with the following message:

* Running ePSXe emulator version 1.5.2.
* Memory handlers init.
* ePSXe: PSX BIOS loaded [C:\GAMES\EPSXE152\Bios\SCPH1001
* Init cdrom ... ok
* Cdrom open... ok
* NTSC cdrom detected.
* Doing init gpu[0]...
* Gpu open[0]...
* Direct input init ok.
* Doing spu init...
* Spu open...
* LoadState Done!
* Closing spu ... << When the monster launchs a Bio Spell
* Closing gpu ...
* Shutdown gpu ...

If you knows this error, please help me. I don't know what to do anymore...

Thank you very much!

Marcelo Gimenez.

Sounds like a damaged cd to me, specifically the area with the bio spell animiation. You could try making an iso image and playing from that but I can't guarantee that an iso image can be created correctly from that.

BTW Only 1 thread per topic please. I have closed and hidden the duplicate.

Ok, I will try with an ISO... but, do you know a good program to make ISOs ? (Free and shareware programs, I mean...) And which kind of ISO do you think more appropriate to ePSXe?

By the way, this error not happened only at this special place. It happened earlier already, as at the Desert Palace, during the battle with that master similar a tombstone - when He threw a Reflect spell. Do You think that the area with the Reflect animation can be damaged too?

Well, as I said, I will try with an ISO. Thank you!!!

And I'm sorry by the duplicate thread, I will not repeat it.

You can use CloneCD on the trial. The BATARD frontend also has a built in ISO creation tool.

Hi Guys!!!

I HAVE GOOD NEWS !!!

I discovered what was the problem!!!

Please, don't get angry with me, but the problem was an error in the CD. As Betamax said, probably the spell's animations was in a defective area of the CD.

I tried with a new CD and the game plays OK!

Thank you very much! You was really fine with me!!!
