I can't switch cd's for some reason. Ive tried all the cd plugins and settings but nothing works. Ive tried iso's as well. Can someone send a savestate or memory card save or give suggestions for fixing this?

In order to switch disks you must press esc to exit to the emu's gui, then use the change disk option located in the file menu.

Yes ive tried that but after i do that it goes back to the game screen and says click start to continue. Then it says checking then the screen fades to black and then nothing happens.

I found the same problem in FF8 after inserting the next disc it went black, fortunatly it saves the game, then asks you to insert a disc. So all i did was exit, insert the new disc, then keep on going. Should be the same for MGS?

I have the same exact issue as a matter of fact.

And I've played ff8 and ff9 and switched disc form the gui without any trouble.

I use clone cd images though since it's much faster so could that be related ?

While on mgs though I have some fmvs that stutters so much that I can't even understand what they say anymore and it makes the scenes skip. some cutscenes are also all blury and I think they're the cause of teh sound skipping.

I'm playing on my laptop (AC 97 sound and Intel DVMT-based graphics chipset).

I'm using the internal epsxe plugin for sound with the spu irq hack enabled and the pete's d3d 1.63 with the following options.

Plugin: Pete's D3D Driver 1.1.63
Author: Pete Bernert
GFX card: Intel(R) 830M Graphics Controller-0

As for my cd-rom plugin I switched form the internal w2k one to pete's (i'm on win XP) but it doens't seem to change anything.

If worse comes to worse, could I send someone my savegame just before the stairs to disc 2 and someone could cross me over to disc 2 and sva eagain and sned it back to me so I could load directly from disc 2 please ?

I'm using epsxe 1.52 btw.

That doesn't work with MGS.. It doesn't let you save when you change disk.. You need to press esc, choose change disk, then continue, then press start... that's what I did and Now I am on disk 2..

yup I did that but the screen stays black after pressing enter.

if anyone has a svaestate or somehting right at the begining of disc 2 it'd be appreciated.

I didn't give up to torture either so if your save game could be the same it'd be really nice of you if you could send it to my e-mail (the__gamer@yahoo.com).

thanks.

I hope I was able to help all my fellow Die-Hard MGS fans, because I know what it is like to eat, breethe and sleep MGS. I have some screen shots too!

I pretty much get like 54 frames per second, and 24 in Codec Sequences, though it doesn't cause lag, and the sound and facial movements are in tune aswell ^^ No skipping here!

i had the same problem with running this game on epsxe. here are the steps i did to fix this problem:
1. save game right after you beat sniper wolf on the memory card.
2. download psxeven emulator (The Emulator Zone - Playstation Emulators (http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/psx/) and put the bios in and all the plugins ( you might need a controller plugin if you are using a usb controller, i used harakiri, you can download it here The Emulator Zone - Playstation plugins & utilities! (http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/psx/psxplugins-tools.html)
3. Once you have everything configured and set up find the memory card that you saved your mgs save on in the epsxe folder and copy it to the memory card folder inside the psxeven folder ( when you copy it change the end of the name of the memory card from xxxxx.mcr to xxxxx.mcd.
4. go to the advanced configuration in psxeven and select the memory card with the metal gear save.
5. start disc one with psxeven and go into the hallway then change disc, press start to load disc 2.
6. Once it loads disc two then call mei ling and save the game.
7. Now you can choose to finish playing the rest of the game on psxeven or
8. If you want to go back to using epsxe then just delete the old memory card in epsxe folder and copy and paste the new memory card from the psxeven folder (dont forget to change the xxx.mcd back to xxx.mcr) then just load disc two and play.
9. then this should do it for you. enjoy!!!
