Here's one at 800 x 600. More shots to come once I figure out how to work this beta version.

Doom 3 has ruined UT 2003 for me... I used to think it looked so amazing.

doom 3 looks a little bit too cartoonish and unreal (no pun intended) for me... it uses cell shading right? well, i like it when games look realistic especially fps games so i think ut 2k3 is better than doom3

As you can see, this is an extremely early version. It says 2001 on top, so expect to see much better graphics when the full version comes out! Not that I'm trying to distribute this beta or anything, but the graphics are indeed impressive and are the best that I've seen running on my pc. I might have to go out and get myself a geforce 3 to get the most out of the full version when it does come out.

Um.. I don't know what Doom 3 you are looking at. It does not use cel shading and is anything but "cartoonish." As good as Unreal 2003 looks, Doom 3 blows it away. But the Doom 3 still shots don't do the engine justice. You need to see moving footage to see the lighting and physics effects. Go download the E3 video. Doom 3 is certainly the most realistic engine in production. The engine also really shines with organic models. Look at the screenshot above with trees. The trees don't look nearly as good as the man-made structure shots are. But the leathery, gangerous skin of a zombie in Doom 3 look every bit as good as the mess of pipes and metal plates off the side.

im not saying it looks cartoonish in the sense or road runner and bugs bunny but it does look less realistic and more copmuter generated

I really don't see how you can claim that, but I guess "cartoonism" or realism is in the eye of the beholder.

heh I always thought Unreal Tournament looked more cartoonish than Quake 3...
In a way you're right about Doom 3. It does and dosen't look cartoonish. Look at the models of the fat men. They look very 'animated' like in Shrek, rather than realistic like in Final Fantasy.

I don't think that man, QuakeIII with those skeleton skins is even MORE cartoonish than UT that i think there aren't no funny models
