Arcadia, formerly known as Gamest, is one of premier gaming guide publishers in Japan specializing in fighting games. They have already released various excellent Tekken 4 guides to which some of Japan's best players have contributed.

They recently released their Tekken 4 character rankings based on expert analysis of each character. Each character gets matched up with all the characters in the game and given a hypothetically winning percentage which is tallied for a final ranking score.

Take a wild guess who came in first? Well... Jin Kazama of course, no big surprise. But on the other hand Heihachi Mishima surprisingly gets ranked in second place and another unexpected entry is Nina Williams in fifth place. Of course ranking are always a topic nobody agrees on but they do show the difference in character dominance depending on different countries, perhaps we underestimate certain characters.

1 (106 Points) Jin Kazama
2 (98 Points) Heihachi Mishima
3 (97 Points) Lee Chaolan
4 (96 Points) Ling Xiaoyu
5 (94 Points) Nina Williams
6 (93 Points) Bryan Fury
6 (93 Points) Steve Fox
8 (85 Points) Paul Phoenix
8 (85 Points) Yoshimitsu
10 (84 Points) Marshall Law
11 (81 Points) Kazuya Mishima
12 (79 Points) Christie Monteiro
12 (79 Points) Julia Chang
14 (76 Points) King
15 (74 Points) Hwoarang
16 (70 Points) Craig Marduk
16 (70 Points) Lei Wulong <----------------- arghhhhhhhhhhh
16 (70 Points) Kuma

Is Lei really so weak in Tekken 4? Not really so weak, but he does have some difficulties to win when facing those chars like Jin, Paul.. Anyway, he used to rock in Tekken TT!

Faq :
Why is Jin so powerful in Tekken 4?

Answer 1: Because Jin is a Japanese and the game developers are Japanese!

Answer 2: Because Jin uses Taekwando and Japanese love Taekwando!

Bull****!

Jin Kazama do only traditional karate and not taek won do. :)
I think japanese have more knowledge/potential about the martial art.

By the way, he my favorite. I need to train him more.

IIRC Hwoarang uses Taek wando.

They probably put Lei in the last place cause they didnt play him right. Lei's way of attacking involves ALOT of dodging, my best character's Bryan Fury, but I have problems when playing againts Lei in hard mode. Jin, however, wasnt THAT tough....:p

Computer opponents are not that hard to beat even if in the hardest mode, but real human is a different story :p

IMHO, to master Tekken 4, you must know how to parry and side step effectively, if you can't master this 2 techiniques , you will never be able to beat a good players who can perform the 2 techniques effectively.

I have downloaded some movies that showing korean players playing Tekken TT, all i can say is : CRAZY!
They have mastered the most scary skill (i think so) called "light dash" which give them a very BIG advantage! Don't ever say you can win them b4 you know what is "light dash"!

light dash is a VERY fast version of crouch dash, you can perform crouch dash by using this command : f, d, df

Light dash = key in the crouch dash command 4-5 times within 1 sec! It will be damn useful if you can master it and combine it with various kind of middle juggles , low attack, tag combos..
