Hey every body, well I don't know if it's the right forum for that but as 3d artist I'm trying to make a chocobo like those in FF9.
I tried yu_ri's program which is able to extract textures from the game, but ther's a protection and the textures are not in real colors, so if know another program that works with ff9 please reply !
thx ! :)

You want the textures ?
Hmm I'm working with 3DS Max4.
I thing most of the textures are only mapped with RGB Code instead of using map libraries(*head scratch* Got it in mind that way).
I would do like this :
Play the game, make an screenie and extract the RGB Code
with Photoshop or an similar Program. When it's a texture cut parts
out of the screenie and put them together. When not very complex, make them by your own (selfmade is not the easiest way but when you keep in mind that an original PSX texture often looks crappy it's maybe the best way.Or search the web for high resoluted pictures of an baby duck or similar. The feathers as textures would be more realistic.
That's my suggestion and the way I would get the textures

I'm using 3DS max 4 too
I think it's a little hard to get a great texture with a screenshot no ? There the model deformation and I don't think the quality is really good too because of the calculation of the texture in a specific 3d environment

it doesn't work :( I just can extract 17 of the standard images, with yu_ri I extracted more than 1000 images but 800 of them were not usable and the other were correct, but those which aren't ok are the textures files !!! arg !

Is there any soft that allowed to unpack a .bin file ? Perhaps will I get them with such a soft. It must exist, I think it's just a C or C++ uncompiler (I don't know)
