Well it wouldnt be a waste remaking Chrono Trigger for PS2. They should keep the same story but have 3D graphics like in Chrono Cross but even better ones. That would be awesome!

Delita, please watch how you voice your opinons. That you think that the PS2 sucks is fine, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. But to state it the way you did could open up a flame war from those who think it is great. Please, in the future, watch how you put things. Thanks.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

The graphics were among the best things about CT. I loved the Akira Toriyama artwork, and turning it into 3D just wouldn't be the same. Unless they do cell-shaded graphics or something.

A cel shaded Chrono Trigger would be great. But I am going to go out on a limb here and say that I am not sure that the PS2 has enough power.

But I think that you are forgetting about the GBA. It is entirely possible that Chrono Trigger could just be being ported to the GBA. Still, Square's track record for ports isn't that great. They almost never get any new features of value.

Always thought that cel-shaded anime-style games would look great. A bit confused though, would cel-shading require a tremendous amount of graphical horsepower?

Well, I have been told that the most graphics intensive game footage shown for GameCube to date has been the Cel-shaded Zelda. I love cel shaded graphics though. It just looks so freaking cool. Zelda and Eternal Darkness are currently the games I am waiting for the most. I am really anxious to see how Zelda plays at E3 this year. Hopefully that will resolve a lot of people's worries whether the game will work or not.

EDIT: New RPG in development with a cel shaded anime style. Tales of Phantasia for GCN.

Hmmm, let's see. the news about chrono trigger's remake is official....but so is (was?) the news about a sequel to chrono cross calld chrono break........ Do u think square is doing two chrono rpgs in the same time? I don't think so.

But wait, if one of them was just a remake for the GBA then it's actually possible they're going for both, no?

it is possible they...they won't be making 2 rpgs they will be making one and giving one a graphics engine.

I would actually enoy CT on hte PS2 as well if ported to 3d. I heard some time ago that some peopel were creating a ROM for the N64 emulator which would be a 3D CT project. I read it somewhere on www.videogames.com.

Supposedly hte project was going to be really good. I wonder if it's been discontinued. Some people said it looked really good appearantly.
