Go with the cheaper, if they are the same, Go with the PC version, as it supports Perspective correction, and is less likely to have glitches.

If you already have MGS psx, then play that in epsxe.. The pc version doesn't have blur effects.. Since the release of epsxe 1.5 and the internal spu 1.5, MGS psx runs nearly perfect on epsxe..

Does the PC porting pretty much the same with psx? Are there any differences between PC vs psx in terms graphics, music, storyline, etc...

Does the PC version supports 3D hardware acceleration(like 4XFFSA)?

PC version supports 1024x768 max res in 3d hardware accel.
The plot, etc is identical. The blur effects are missing tho, unless you have a ninja BATARD pc.

erm..... what do you mean by blur effects?

well, as far as I have played MGS PC.... it is the best.... runs perfectly in my mediocre PC, 1024*768 mode is just beautiful..... hardware accel. is just perfect (even using my sis620....... I recommend it to you....

Blur effects: the underwater effect, and the ninja's effect.

There are some censored stuffs in the PC version.

The gag with the naked guard near Meryl's cell wears trousers in the PC version for instance.

Well, in the PAL version of MGS that gag's also censored... heavily pixelated in the guard's genital area :p

A different question but MGS related...

How is the gameplay like? I've read SO much about this game that makes me really curious about it and willing to play but this game seems a "steath" game (just like Tenchu), genre which I hate.
So, how is it? Do you have to hide from bad guys, cameras and kill less people as possible (always using a #*@$(#@ sniper rilfe) or you can walk freely with real men's weapons killing whoever you want?

You're supposed to hide and sneak... you can kill people in a variety of ways, but you're supposed to kill as few as possible. Killing actually will lower your rank at the end of the game. This game and this series practically INVENTED and DEFINED the stealth genre though so I think it's alot of fun

man..... now that's weird....... never heard about someone that hasn't played MGS...... well, I think that's a specie in way of extinction.....

Your missing out man.. It is a stealth game, but you can do whatever you want.. Kill as many.. Who cares about rank.. It's fun the way you want to play it.. Once you get the stealth suit and bandana, things get very interesting and funny.. More ways to kill.. Cool story.. Great characters..

Well, I am quite happy with Metal Gear Solid PC. It was a pretty good port.

The underwater effects ARE in the PC port, the only thing missing is the blur effects. (Which are quite cool.)

However, the speed and quality is well above what I normally get with ePSXe, since it is a genuine PC game. The recent official Nvidia detonators will run the invisible effects at full speed, which was something I couldn't do before. I think that the invisibility effects on PC look much better than the PSX version, but I could be wrong. Could someone please post a shot from the PSX version?
