...Or does the ending to Final Fantasy 9 suck?
And here I thought the FF9 ending was actually good...considering it's FF9. Sure, it was predictable. Sure, it was lame. But it was better than the game. :p

LOL! I'm not too sure about better than the game, but it's a toss up. The most disappointing factor was that I was expecting a 15 minute long CGI (like FF8), but instead all I got was some text and about 3 minutes of movies.
It'd be kind of difficult to beat out FF8's ending. That's arguably the best ending in any game out there. :p

And thanks to VCD technology, I can watch it any time I want!

I use the FF8 FMV viewer for the PC version of FF8. It allows me to watch any movie in the game, even the bad ending.
The bad ending?
I reckon FF8 had a rockin ending actualy. That little bit after the credits was sappy, but I loved it.

No, I mean the bad ending. You know, the one where Balamb Garden gets destroyed.
Thats right! FF8 is the best FF, ever. (well maybe not ever)

Ah Yikes! I still haven't completed this game. I remember getting really really far and then my saves got deleted as well. I've heard many times that the ending is cool is cool and I want to see it. I can extract it from the PSX cd, can't I?

***SPOILER***
If you fail/die during the missile base part or when converting the garden, it will be destroyed by missiles. The garden will not lift off and the missiles will plow into it and blow up. Game over.

Yeah, same here. My friend once died there and it showed the FMV for the bad ending.

I'm going to try to see that one this time through...I've saved it each of the three times I've gone through. This time I'm going through without leveling up a single time!

Is it just me or does the ending to Final Fantasy Movie sucks more? Is it just me or does the role story in FF Movie really sucks?? (but the graphics are really good!!)
I liked the story in FF: TSW. I didn't at first, but the more I watched it the better I realised the story was. It's really quite deep IMO
FF9 had a good plot, but sooooo predictable. the ending was too lacking in FMV.
I have yet to see FF10 for comparison tho.

Personally i think the whole final fantasy franchise has hit dirt. I was especially dissapointed with VII. That whole emotional bit where Sephiroth killed aries? I laughed. I had no emotional attachment to the characters at all. VIII was probably the most boring final fantasy game there is. By now turn-based combat is getting stale and the weapon designs are horrible. Props for graphics, but not enough to save it. IX the story was lame but had decent graphics and animation. And now X. Perhaps the worst Final Fantasy game in existence. Only in this game will you find a 1.5 second long cg cutscene that switches to ingame graphics. What the hell is the point of that? Me and my friends had more fun adding our own colorful commentary to the cutscenes than we did actually playing the game. The only thing unique and truly worth the purchase price was the level up system. By far the most innovative one. But the game was still lame.

That jes you opinion man....
I liked FF8 alot FF9's story wasn't to good VII was good but the no mouth thing was FEReaky IMO.
FFX was great but the break damge limit thing busted it up for me i went to the omegha dungeoun and powered up to demi god levels I killed every boss in the game after that except Braska's final Aeon with ONE hit one 99,999 hit!

I had attachment to the characters in FF7, and if you look over the net, and the number of people who seemed distraught by the whole Aeris thing........
FF8 was good if you cheated so you didn't have to draw.
FF9 was really fun to play.

If you really get into the game, you can easily get an emotional attachment to the charactes real quickly. Not only that, but she was the one I was leveling up!:)

FF7 has a great story and I was sad when Aeris die.
FF8 also has a great story and good ending.
FF9 is nice and for me the story wasnt too bad at all.
As a conclusion, I love all games in FF series.

Sorry. After Final Fantasy VI it just went downhill from there(at least for me). i preferred Legend of Dragoon and Star Ocean: The 2nd story. I also enjoyed Xenogears (some of Square's best work). Valkyrie Profile (did i spell that right?) was also neat.

GameMakerJon i partially agree with you. Yes FFVIII was bad and FFX but FFVII was ok and so was FFIX. Yes square has gone downhill with execption of FFT and xenogears.
I liked FF9. I don't see why so many people dislike it. It was different than FF8 & 7 that's for sure. It was still good though
The ending is kinda lame. Although hte graphics aren't bad
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within ahd an aweful plot. At least according to me. They tried to put a long game plot into a short movie. I think that they weren't keeping in mind that it was a movie they were making. If the movie was a lot longer and they had time to explain certain thigns, then the plot might be better. It was rushed and the element of suspence was not present

Just like ff7 there a lot more to the plot in SW than is apparent at face value....

i dont see what kind of crack you all are smoking, i really didnt like playing FF8 at all... it was OK at best... and honestly i dont know if i ever beat ultima weapon but the rest of the game was pretty easy and i thought the storyline was a bit lacking...
I personally think that the high pt for FF was #3 (6) #7 was good too IMO, #1 is an awesome game, granted lacking in FMV's but the game is great even if just the fact of how unique it was (is) .
really tho, i think that FF8's FMV's made it at least fun to play, although i enjoy games with few or no FMV's quite a bit. so in conclusion, FF8 was mediocre at best, but i heard #9 is fun...
Strange company square, they make all these incredible games, but they let their premier game series sink into a festering pile of crap (ok so i am being a little hard) but seriously...
