press the escape key and restart the game hahaha:D :D :D if you are really good with piloting your raven you will be able to trash the daishi just get to its back and fire away and dont get in front of it or just get a trainer

i always circle the enemy mech with my torso tilted shooting at them from side to side since theyre too slow to target me... and if you get your arms blown off you either screwed up and need to restart or you need to find a repair station and shut down to let em fix u up

The last Mechwarrior series I played was Mechwarrior 3. The game was too hard for me, I'd just had to finished it using trainer. :emb:

mechwarrior has always had really good graphics, fun gameplay, and my favourite, extremely good music which fit the game well

Last and only Mechwarrior I played was Mechwarrior 2. I LOVED that game though... what I would also do though is equip myself with the same small mech (I think it was the Nova..?) all weak lasers, and jumpjets. The misssions would call for much bigger mechs, but I would turn on wireframe mode so that I could see the damage on all my enemies at once wihtout having to target enemies one at a time. Then I would run circles around them while firing full bursts targetted only at the legs. Haha, I didn't realize until after I beat the game that on some missions you were supposed to assign and command 2 to 3 extra mechs in your unit - I just played the whole game solo, with both clans!

After that though, I couldn't quite get used to the non-cheapness of Mechwarrior 3. It was much harder, but the thing I found hardest about Mechwarrior 3 and 4 was getting used to the controls. Basically EVERY button on the keyboard is mapped, and I am way too dumb to figure it out and get used to it.

heh... it takes a while to get used to mechwarrior controls... every key has a function... including like 15 functions you never use... theres also like 10 functions which you rarely use... but have to use on certain missions.

When I played Mechwarrior for the first time, I always mess up with the keys. There are just too many of them, and it would take time to familiarize it all. And one thing keep playing in my mind. It may have nothing to do with the game directly. But after all these years of advance science and technology, then why did the lock on function is still manual? :( I mean, you have to use your mouse to lock any faraway mech using the reticule, and for me that is so troublesome. Why don't they just do something like fighter aircraft lock on function?

I guess you are are one who can never master the simple art of using a joystick and mapping certain keys only(The target under reticue also acta as the nearest enemy key for example)

Yep, you right. I found it more comfortable to play fighting games, let's say King Of Fighter 99, using keyboard rather than using gamepad or joystick. :D
Furthermore, would it be easier to play mechwarrior using combination of joystick (is it supported?) and keyboard, or keyboard only? This is just for opinion. :)

mechwarrior 4 is great with forcefeedback joystick like the voleforcefeedback2:D but the i find mechwarrior 4 more challenging cause it has no torso auto centering function unlike the previous mecwarrior but it makes the mechwarrior 4 piloting more challenging w/c is good for me and surely annoys others.

imo the mouse and keyboard are the perfect combination for a game like mechwarrior... the mouse is the easiest targeting device out there and the keyboard... has a helluva lot of keys, ill tell you that.

i agree that the mouse and the keyboard has the most controls for the game, but u cant xperience forcefeedback w/it

A looooong time ago I played the origonal Mechwarrior on the SNES, and I loved it. Mechwarrior 2 I got about a year ago for free and so I played through that. My favorite setup was a Timberwolf with 10 Machine guns! You can shred anything with that, but you have to get up close and personal, plus be very concious of your ammo usage.

in mechwarrior 4 i prefer having a big daishi with mainly lasers (2 large and 4 medium) and 2 rocket packs. even though the daishi's speed is horribly low, you can still dodge most rockets from enemy mechs, and besides, when you're the most powerful mech on the battlefield... why run?

well... its as good as force feedback... in fact... even better, since its for a wide area affect... you can make some mini earthquakes for your neighbours if you live in a building :p :D
