Well .. depends on what games you like,its like Diablo,but in 3D and there is actually no loading when you play :-)

Great shots spadjr. Let's me see what I am missing. I finished trying to get it to go last night. It simply won't work, not now, not on my system.:( My only hope is for a patch or something to be released. Otherwise, $50 (US dollars) down the drain.

sxamiga : ya know,i wasted my money on one game too,never get it to work,no patches helped me,it was game Giantz - Citizen Kabuto.Its shame that slow old graphic card Ati Rage 128 works fine with DS,but not G4Ti.Did you find a person who have GF4Ti,that can play it.Did you get any reply from GPG or Microsoft about your problem ? ... Very impressive shots spadjr, it lets me see what I have to look forward to. BTW, I started having problems w/the game again today (4/20/02) so I called MS support and the guy I talked to had me try somethings. Then he had me limit my memory to 128 megs and try the game. No more problems. He told me that Win 98 First Edition can't handle, well, more than 512 megs of memory and I had 640 megs of memory. So he said this may be the problem. Seems like it was. I can't wait to get further in the game.

It has more fighting than baldur's gate, but if you are like me and liked the bg series you will more than likely like ds.

This game is excellent. I've got my problems solved now, thanks to the memory fix. The solo mode seems like it could be quite tough, but I found cheats for the game and I am using invincibility. I'm doing this so that I can play solo, get a good feel for the game, and see everything. Since I have gotten into this game, I DO want to see everything. I have sixteen screenshots that I have taken and as soon as I convert them, I'll post them.
Delita, I have everthing turned on, Hardware TnL, Trilinear filtering, and complex shadows. Even w/all that my card handles it easily, no slowdowns at all.

delita : i finished a game solo with nature/melee woman,as you see on pictures.Going again with pure melee warrior now,going to swamps,will be hard.
sxamiga : there is program called cacheman which fix your problems with memory very easily and i think you can maybe use more memory with it.

Thanks for the link spadjr. I checked it out and will download it when I get home (I'm at work right now). I tried my memory set at 256 and DS worked fine, then I set it at 384 but i have not had a chance to try it yet. Still, I think it should work. ePSXe internal sound and my wife's 3d Mahjongg game now work properly so DS should as well. Thanks again.:)

Well .. what to do now ? if you prefer SP only,or ya can play only SP,then what to do after you finish SP ? EXP in MP is four times smaller,you get level up after like hour,GPG should fix it.

The maps on this dwarf it as it is one big map.
There is no loading screens apart from when you first load the game. It doesn't detract from my dislike of the game tho.

Granted the Dugeon is deep but you just go from one level to the next. In Dungeon Siege, you have towns, towers, the overworld, and Dugeons to explore. Dugeon Siege is much bigger that the first Diablo, with a lot more to do as well.

I'm trying to decide if I want to buy this game. Some people love it, but some others are saying that it gets boreing quick. I don't want to spent money on something that I will get sick of in just a week or two.

I've been playing it myself. Great game, my only gripe with it is later on the levels get really dark and they're so enormous that when you go back to check out new areas you spend ALOT of time just retracing your steps.

Spajdr, I 've got some bad news. The Version 1.1 patch is not out yet. The siege editior is, but with out the patch you can't play the maps you make. You can still make maps but you can't play them yet. The patch won't be out for a few more days. You can read about it over at www.dungeonsiege.com

sxamiga : thanks for info,as i look on DS forums,Siege editor isnt much stable.They write that patch 1.1 wont be out for few days before SE was released,but they talk about version 1.09B,and nothing.Wonder if game will be not dead soon,after all these problems.What to play now ? I already completed DS Single campaign 3x times and MP once.Sure you can get better items on elite difficulty,but i dont care.

Tom_E : you can play it online thru MS Zone or in local network or over TCP IP .. i think.

Glad to help spajdr. I, too, wonder about the various problems. I am looking forward to playing the MP map as a solo player, that should be fun. Let's hope that Gas Powered Games and MS get their acts together and complete the patch. Then everyone will be able to enjoy the editor as well. Also if the editor is very stable yet, then why release it? Especially if the patch isn't even out yet.

Tom_E, here in the US, Dungeon Siege retails for $49.99 (US dollars) but some places, like Fry's and Wal Mart, have it for less.
You can play single player mode (with a party of computer characters if you wish) and you can also play single player mode on the multiplayer map if you want. This give you a whole new world to explore. Then, of course, you can also play multiplayer mode over a modem as well.
