Does anyone know if you can steal anything from Balio and Sunder the first time you fight them? Also, where is the first place you can get a coin?

heh, that place is the best for walkthroughs and stuff, although i only use walkthroughs when i beat the game *so i can beat it again* or if i'm REALLY REALLY REALLY stuck

AFIK, you cannot steal anything from Balio and Sunder, the first time you fight them. But if you use cheats and make Ryu, Rei, and Teepo invincble, you can beat them (they aren't dead though, they do turn up later) and then you will get a special kind of armor from them. Be warned though, beating them this way takes forever. This is probably because, at this stage of the game, you are not supposed to be able to beat them.

yea, and it would take a long time to damage then because of your low level... and just like sx/amiga said, its part of teh game that you eould be beated...although I never tried pilfering coz a few hits from the two and I'm dead already!:eek:

Well, leveled a lot before them... i lasted about 15 rounds... i think that's good.

Eface Darren, I'm impressed. I assume that you weren't using cheats. 15 rounds is quite a while. As Quatro said, it is usually just a couple of rounds and your party is gone.

Quatro about the patience....
try ff8.... naw... i'll make it harder.
Try the final boss of ff8..... squall's lionheart is the nr 1 move there.
What if miss final boss decides to destroy the junction when u just got there that concerns power. Right u've just got some crappy stat with power. squall was at lvl 99 with me(in comparison to the rests lvl 35) and did a whopping 265 damage per hit....

that event occured at 1:00 am. Guess i was in for a long night. But i got rid of her. after a few hours. oh yeah, squall was the only one who could attack seriously, the rest only had support magic for squall:D

Lotus gem star? I got the angel armband... Combine with the levantine sword and the slayer ring. Prepare for a TOTAL fragfest of stars. With these 3 items plus a battle suit. U CAN'T lose in a survival battle. up ur chances more, add bunny shoes. then the sucker can't even rip of 1 master attacks..... which does a whiny 256 dmg or something.

how about killing the weird monster in the bonus dungeon
the one you need to beat to get the lotus gem in star ocean 2 without using the weird slayer took hours to beat the bastard

well, I have already finished FF8 using squall, irvine and zell... zell was the charmer for me... with proper timing his combo is almost unlimited!
