View Full Version : problems creating ISO images

I had no success yet in creating an ISO image from a Playstation-CD
that would work with AdriPSX.
When starting an ISO image with "Boot File", I get an error message that says:
"Emulation error: Unsupported MIPS CPU Instruction"

Do I need a special software to create an ISO image from a Playstation CD or what's wrong? (I tried WinOnCD.)

(I am using Win 2000 and AriPSX 1.0.4 that claims to have improved ISO-file support)

Try using a good tool like ISOBuster, for ripping CDROM images.
Also, be sure that it is taken in RAW mode (2352 bytes per sector), and also that it is named as .ISO or .BIN ;)

Good luck.

I tried Isobuster now. No success yet:
ADriPSX displays a black screen when booting the image (but no error messages).

(Booting from the Original CDs work fine.)

I will try with CDRWin now.
Where can I download the AdriPSX's creator?

Correction:
I discovered that the Isos created with Isobuster work fine with ePSXe but no luck with AdriPSX!!!

This is really strange: Now I have 3 different PSX games from which I created Iso files. All of them run fine with ePSXe.
This should be proof that the Isos are o.k., right?
But none of them will run with AdriPSX.

What else can be wrong then?

Get the newest tool for PSX emus, the BATARD. (batard.psxfanatics.com)

like roor said "Also, be sure that it is taken in RAW mode (2352 bytes per sector), and also that it is named as .ISO or .BIN" if it is not set in that format it will not run BTW the batard tool can't make iso's yet can it?

I tried to make an ISO file with batard, but the ISO creator says: "unable to initialize ASPI drivers".
Do I have to install or config something else?

Try changing your cd-rom plug in.

The original problem is not solved yet.
I will try and report if the Isos created with "CloneCD" work on AdriPSX.

But as I already posted the Isos created with "Isobuster" work fine on ePSXe but not at all on AdriPSX!!!

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Agusta : What is game that show you just black screen over AdriPSX ? because AdriPSX isnt that compatible like ePSXe is,so maybe problem is just in compatibility.

Maybe compatibality is the problem but you can try Blindwrite www.blindwrite.com as another alternative to create iso image.

Well goddamn, a 5 year old thread. An oldie but a goodie I guess.

You're usually best off making your own thread, even if your problem is EXACTLY the same. And you're definitely best off not reviving a 5 year old thread. First of all because threads and posts are free, there's nothing wrong with making your own. But secondly, I've seen it happen many times. People just skim posts without reading the dates. And there's always someone who quotes a 5 year old post trying to help

Make your own thread, re-explain the problem (are you really having the EXACT same problem?) and tell us more about your computer specs, and you will get help.
