Yes, Hard Truck 2.
A fairly good simulation if you dont take the tern "virtually endless roads" Literally.
You drive semi trucks and similar vehicles, basically driving fairly safely while still beating the competition to the next station.
Again, If You have heard of it, say opinion f it.

Theres cheat codes to turn the mines off btw...
hit pause and type: minesoff for no mines - if you have the 5.5 vers of HT2..
Currently, I've been playing HT2 ever since I got my new comp going, about 3-4 months ago. Theres all kinds of goals you can set for yourself.. like say you want a huge trailer park, Go ahead and do that. There's also "secret" roads too.

I actually own this game. I expected more of it before inserting the game CD into my computer, but it's...er...yeah, good. I'd say the steer could have been made a little bit softer. Even with the least moviment, it's possible to get out of the road with scratchy disturbing noises. But, regarding the main point, I follow Eface: WTF are those mines doing in the middle of the road? You can cheat in order to disable them, but they shouldn't have been even considered to be put there in the first place; it really bugs anyone. Overall, too bad it can't be run on a GeForce2 MX200... :( (hm, if someone knows how to do this magic, please post it here).

Well, there is a new version out. King of the Road [currently in German and or Russian. English may or may not be developed].
Try looking for it.. you'll have to deal with the german language tho, unless you go thru babel fish. but it costs rough 40 EUD/ 90 DM/ around 40 USD. I may deal with the german version...
Anywho.. Yeah, the mines nmake it a challenge.. but I always look for places where I can get around the mines, for instance, space between the road and the hills is drivable. Yes it does slow speed down a bit, but I dont mind too much... There are certain places on the map that you can shortcut. about 4-5 curves out of westwood headed to st helena[s], theres a large flat valley. to the right as your to st helens[a], theres holes in the trees and stuff.. this valley conects up with the other highway leading to Mercury from foothills. it only takes about 5 min to get from westwood to mercury.
A tip I cannot emphasize enough is to look for shortcuts and use them. Explore. the best routes to go are from mercury to North harbor, North harbor to St Helens, Mercury to westwood and vs, Mercury to river valley uising a shortcut thru the marshy areas [same from mercury to eastwood and vs]. Look for waits to shortcut.. theres two narrow ways of shortcut at North haarbor to get ahead., btween the cliff and the clover leafs.
This game is a challenge yes, but you can beat it. I've done it several times. It can be done
Just dont give up

The problem is that it started not to run on my system ever since I got a GeForce2. Stupid Direct3D. I just uninstalled the game, but I miss it. I haven't downloaded the patch yet due to its size (17MB is a lot for me), but I will do and check if it fixes the GeForce2 issue.

... ok so is the game good or good in the shelves???

"Good in the shelves?" I don't know this expression, but I guess I got the point. Well, the game is good, although it could have been much better made. You don't have much of the real road feeling, but it gets you entertained for a while if you don't request too much of the game.

There is a small vers of the big patch.. 1.6mb in size..
Well, The realisticness of it has improved with the new version [ King of the Road currently out in Europe ] And there is a tweaking program to adjust the friction and the steering sense etc..
http://www.trucksims.com has the small patch and the utility
In my opinion, Its a good game for the 10$ you basically shell out for it. Considering that I've been playing it for like 4 months straight..Its a good game.
