What are the best 2D Fighting games on Genesis?

well, actually they're beatemup and no 1vs1, but that would be the Streets Of Rage games.

The best 1vs1 type game on the genesis i think is Mortal Kombat 2.

1 on 1? Super Street Fighter 2, although the sound is a bit cack. If you mean Side scrolling beat-em-up, I reckon Streets of Rage 2. Number 3 is a bit cack.

Personnaly, I prefered Samurai Showdown. Are there some other the same way?

I remeber Fatal Fury made it there. I didn't think KoF was on anything but Neo Geo and GB.

No.. Only Fatul Fury 1, 2, and SS1 was on the genesis.. Although Fatal Fury Special was released on the sega CD..

I also think SF2 Special Champions Edition and SSF2 are the best fighting games on the old genesis.. Especially since the genesis has the best 6 button control pads for this game.. Mk1 and MK2 were also pretty decent(except the music)..

For beat em ups though, I agree with others that SOR2 is the best around..

I'd have to give the title of "best fighting game for Genesis" to Yu Yu Hakusho: Makyou Touitsusen. Not exactly the deepest fighting game around, but hey, 4-player deathmatch is a blast to play! :D

No, no... Yu Yu Hakusho Gaiden is the "talk and talk and walk and talk and..." kinda game... YYH:MT is a real fighting game :)

hmm, streets of rage was a nice scroller... street fighter was good, but virtua fighter for sega, and eternal champions imo were better

Virtua Fighter was too slow, and Eternal champions played really badly IMO.

I gotta vote for Super Street Fighter and Samurai Showdown... actually I think the Samurai Showdown series in general is underrated... I have SS2 and SS4 for the PC and I still play them all the time!

mvsc wasn't on Genesis. I did like Mortal Kombat 2 for Genesis but I'm bored of that game now. :p

newaz for genesis it would have to be Fatal Fury 2
