Which mixtures would you like to see with RPG's? Which rpg hybrid genres should be further developed? If you want to talk about hybrids that have nothing to do with rpg's then go ahead.

I would like to see more action/fighting hybrids, like Oni was... mixing Tomb Raider style moves and gameplay with lots of guns, and lots of hand to hand moves that rocked too

How about a cross between Street Fighter/ Streets of Rage and an RPG? The stat boosts would increase your actual speed and the damage you do. The more damage you deliver, the higher your stats get.

i dunno is this is really considered a hybrid but i want to see more of those horror rpg's with guns kinda like PE2 or devil may cry

I would like to see more in the way of shooter rpg's, but they may have already reached the peak for that category with Panzer Dragoon Saga and Elemental Gearbolt.

i think those games still lack in comparison to deus ex, which was also a fps rpg...

Seriously, I'd really like a decent streets of rage wannabe though. None of these 3d wannabe clones seem to be any good :eek:
If it could incorporate RPG elements, it would be even better.

Actually, there was a fairly neat RPG/street fighter hybrid by the name of Revengers of Vengeance.

My personal favorite hybrid is the kind of game like the AD&D arcade games or King of Dragons. They're a lot of fun, especially if you have any friends to play them with.

I have always loved the Strategy RPGs. I would love to see more Ogre Battle games.

Hello everyone.
In my opinion, they should make more strategy RPG, because it seems that there are not much of this genre right now. It would be great if we could see some other games than FFTactics, Front Mission 3 and Saiyuki. It would be greater, if they would remake some old games like FF6 and CTrigger with a new genre such as strategy RPG. ;)

I don't consider panzer dragoon saga an fps rpg according to what I know of fps. Does anyone agree/disagree?

I have never played King of Dragons but the AD&D arcade games I will never consider rpgs. That would mean anything with AD&D slapped on it could be considered an rpg IMO.

I have always loved the Strategy RPGs. I would love to see more Ogre Battle games.
There are quite a few srpg's but you must import them. I don't think there has been anything recently made except for the ogre gba title.

Will this genre ever be released on the next gen. consoles?
If it is we might not recognize it as such.

deus ex is an rpg because it has experience, skills, and other factors... just because its plays like a fps doesnt mean its not an rpg

I was wrong about that. Super Robot Taisen Impact is a recent srpg.

nope, its not an rpg either, its an fps/rpg ... sorta like system shock, actually, exactly like system shock...

If it is an fps/rpg then if someone calls it an rpg or fps they would both be right.

system shock and system shock 2 are really popular games, surprised you haven't heard of em... anyways it would only be partially right because it doesnt go by the traditional parameters of each one separately
