Well, I like KoF very much, but I'm not very addicted to it. The one I like most is the '94 version (ok, you all can laugh, I don't mind it :p).

Hmm... I cannot make something up as to why I like the first version. Maybe I just like it because it's straight fight: charge your power and kick the opponent's a$$. ;)

I used to be a kof fan. But stopped playing this game for quite some times now. Why stop? Well, kof2k and kof2k1 are full of bugs,but i assumed it was still playable until lots of bug abusers showed up in the places where i used to play kof, they never feel ashame to abuse bugs, as long as they can win, so i think the games suck.Btw, without those bugs, the bug abusers will need to train atleast 10 years in order to beat me,LOL.
Anyway,the only kof series i don't refuse to play are kof98 and kof99.

p/s I have become a Tekken fan, and just mastered Lei Wulong! yes, now i can make use of all his different styles efficiently! My oppenets are crying ;)

kof 2000 is buggy...in single player mode, just pick Mai and dont move and your opponent wont move.
Easy winning that way =P

My word of advice to Kof masters wannabes
don't blame defeat due to stupid bugs alone
you may have not enough skills or you are simply unlucky
It is understandable to blame the controllers
some controllers are truly unresponsive
a true master has total mastery of his craft
without heitation and difficulty
hehehehehe

I like kof, my favorites are Ralph and athena..... the rest is not that great i think. i like ralph best for his air (CD) check the range.....
or block damage from his vulcan cannon.

Seems like you still havent met any real bug abuser, you are lucky. Anyway, i have played arcade games until 22 years old just realized that super bug abusers do exist, thanks to kof2000 and snk.
Btw, those bug abusers i mentioned werent got no skills, they know how to play, but the most skillful thing they ca do is"one hit die". Your character fell on the floor? then prepare money for next round, because your character got no chance to stand up again. What? dont understand, it is ok.. masters never allow people to hit their chars until fall on the floor, so those bugs got no effect on them... COOL

Anyway, althought i am very sucky,I dont mind to lose, but i do mind to lose to a facking "1 hit die super skill". What kind of facking lame bug is that? hmmm.. Guess like i have to be a kof master so my char will never fell on the floor to avoid this bug...


p/s ofcource, not saying i cant win those bug abusers, but, there is no fun to play a super buggy, unbalance game.

I find the Street Fighter games require a lot more skill than KOF. One of my cousins came over one day and played KOF 98 on my computer and all he did was jam on the buttons. He actually won a couple of rounds and on easy mode he even beat the game. He tried the same tactic on SFA and he couldn't even get past the first round, even on the easiest setting. Of course against human players it's different but still, if you know a couple of tricks and maneuvers then it isn't all that hard. Some of the characters and players are really cheap though and they're usually the ones that get me.

That's where last blade 2 rules big time. If the other person is NOT a buttonslasherbashermasher, whatever..... then both people can play nice and the better will win..... and the vs can equal the odds quite nicely. And last blade 2, being able to beat the comp at lvl 8 might be tricky, but a computer has got a set tactic, humans don't.

Remember the 3 times is straight rule!!!!

If you are saying the computer oppenents in street fighter series are harder to beat compare to kof series, i am half agree, depends on which series you are talking about. Try to play an old sf series like street fighter 2 or super street fighter 2, the computer ooponents are quite touch, need patient to beat them, not button smashing or whatever.
Anyway, most of the games companies have low down the computer AI in order to attract more people to try their games, so it is not surprise that computer oppenents in kof98 is easy to beat then sfa.

The KOF2k1 rom has been released and I've already dl'd it.
IT IS TERRIBLE!!! The backgrounds look worse than in KOF94. Hell, Fatal Fury 1 had better backgrounds! The music is nothing but mild techno.
I thought the series was heading for a slump when I saw the last game, but this is an abomination!!

Someone at another forum was seriously trolling about KOF. Said that to pull off a DM you have to rotate the joystick 3 times and hit 2 buttons.
What a scrub

90% of the DMs are quaterC/halfC combinations. Very easy to execute.
