All in all, it's looking a lot better than current competitors, from what i've heard of the battle/party system.
I hope there are plenty of trade skills, and there is a lot of character interaction too. Areas need to be avaliable to PvP too, to satisfy the bloodthirsty needs of some of the community.

I like games that allow you to travel around the world controlling a character , FFXI seems to my liking... but ah , money's always a problem. I hope they do the same thing for FFXII ,unlike FFX where you choose fixed locations. The worlds in the previous FF's were too small , IMO .

But did you see a little bug with shadows ? When a guy is on a chocobo, its shadow and the chocobo one are combined, so there is the shadow of the guy that appear in the chocobo shadow (physically impossible)

PS2 version will suck becuase you need a breakstation 2 and if I remember correctly you need a hardrive and modem too which adds a lot to the combo not to mention the monthly fee. I won't bother with game because there are plenty of free beta to play instead. The graphics are nice I jsut finished looking DOOM 3 and Everquest 2 so they don't look that good any more.

Looks nice, but the online part of it is gonna make it suck. They should've made an online game as a seperate product. Being able to do it by yourself is one of the best points of Final Fantasy.

Final Fantasy 11 is tho only online RPG that actualy looks any good to me. The party based system sounds like a really good idea, as does the way battles work. I hope there is more inter user action, as Anarchy Online had pretty much no worthwhile trade skills, which really sucked.....

1. Final Fantasy 10: Avaliable.
2. Final Fantasy 11: Avaliable in 2 or 3 mounths (Japan)
3. Final Fantasy 12: In development (some selected japoneses are testing the beta version right!)

playonline is free, but to play FFXi it will cost you around 10$ a month. It makes sense the server cost a lot to maintain. And to make a good online rpg you will need to update everynow and then which would require a hardrive.

why does everybody think that grpahic engine is so good? I personallity think is a decent gpu. I think the doom 3 and unreal 2 gpu would require a new video card more than FFXI.

Doom III or Unreal 2 gpus may require a better card than for FFXI, however, the depth of the game far outweighs that of Doom III or Unreal 2. The character and monster count, as well as the massive world in which to explore is so much more than Doom III and Unreal 2 put together.

Games shouldn't be rated by the quality of the graphics alone, but by its variety.

Yes, Doom III or Unreal 2 may have the high resolution and great lighting effects, but is it as vast as FFXI? Gamers crave for games that dazzle the eyes, along with gameplay that provides a sense of freedom to explore and to customize to their own liking. The complexity and beauty of FFXI is what makes it one of the most anticipated games!!!!

I thought the environment in Unreal was pretty good. That game had some amazing settings, like that boat ride through the cavern and the gigantic castles, sunspire and other structures. Quake 3 had extremely small maps but not Unreal. The scenery just blew me away the first time I saw it. I`m expecting something similar with Unreal 2 and considering the vast improvements in the engine it will probably have even larger and more detailed environments.

Personally, I`m not anticipating FF XI at all. No aspect of it appeals to me at all, especially the monthly fee. There are plenty of better on-line RPGs on the PC.

I wasn't comparing them at all. I was saying the unreal and Doom 3 will be more powerfull. And i agree with demigod79 that is very little about FFXI that apeals to me. And unreal 2 will be vast world. And doom 3 is so far off that we can't say.

I hope that they make this game for the x box. Square is loseing money just making games for the ps2 and said they will may start making game for the game boy advacned game cube and the x box but only a 30% chance. Hey but they will probaly make it for them because sony buying tons of Square shares to keep it aflot.

Japan is the most important market to penetrate as far as consoles go IMO. Look at the failed CDi and the Jaguar. The X-Box is being outsold by a discontinued console (the Dreamcast) and a 7 year old console (the PS1).
As a result Square are gonna stay away. They would lose money developing for the X-Box if they already have the games on other platforms. FFXI has been confirmed for the PC and PS2. There are no rumours of any other ports, from any kind of reliable source last time I checked.

I mean, think about 1994 and the years before that, when Nintendo ruled the gaming world. Sony's Playstation was simply an attempt to gain a small piece of the gaming market. The introduction of Square's FFVII and Dragon Quest was what gave the playstation all its fame. Now, 7 years later, the console is still going strong, and as Lord Kane has already indicated, it is even outselling the X-box.

The bonds between Square and Sony will be very difficult to break considering their history together.

Then again, that's what people thought about the Square Nintendo relationship, and that has died.
I say there isn't gonna be an X-box version, but I'm not going to rule out a cube version.
Square isn't, however the be all and end all, even tho if you look at history, it looks like that. Konomi are also important, as are a lot of the other Jap developers.

Square will not release a game for anything except the PS2 for while becuase sony gave them a lot of money. And thier bonds i made of money i doubt much else. What shame square picked the ****tiest consoles to make games for....the orignal playstation was ****ed and now the breakststation 2 is aswell. And sony doesn't give a **** they just wantn your money to fix a broken machine that they know is broken and it is thier fault for using ****ty lasers.

Nops.... The square will realease games to GameCube too!! It's already confirmed! I don't know if will be any Final Fantasy to Nintendos anyway...
