View Full Version : Xbox 360 controller suddenly not recognized in game after months of working fine

Hi, this seems to be quite a common problem however after trawling through many threads I was unable to find a solution which worked for me.

I have been using epsxe for maybe a year now, with my xbox 360 controller as player 1 consistently, and occasionally two PS2 controllers to add a second and third player, until today everything has worked absolutely fine but now it no longer registers any button press in game.

I have tried hitting all of the appropriate F# keys, reconfiguring the controls (still registers everything in config), restarting my computer and yet still to no avail.

The controller still works completely fine in project64, visualboyadvance, dolphin and pc games but as soon as I enter a game in epsxe it may as well not exist.

I'm sure there's some sort of simple fix to this I must have missed?

Try unplugging all controllers but the x360 one? Then reconfig, and try again. Also make sure you have analog on for games that requires it, and off for those incompatible with it.

Other than that, you can check this thread (http://forums.ngemu.com/showthread.php?t=148802) for info about using input plugins.

Just opened it up (without doing anything except opening the game) after taking a nap and now i think it's working fine... weird.
The only thing that seems to be different is the light in the middle of the controller is now flashing whereas before it was off.

Thanks for responding anyway though!

No problem, although I would still insist on using a XInput plugin instead. Since DInput ain't nice for X360 controllers.
