Ya they are nice I am just wondering if I am gonna see any real improvement over my dreamcast version.

If it's gonna be worth my while to buy it.

There's very very few reviews about it.

From what I have seen tho. The game doesn't look any different except for a better font.

Exodus

is it cheaper than regular PC games since its a port?

ToM_E

Grandia 2 was ported to PC and PS2. I heard that Dreamcast has the best graphics...Unless you own a hell of a nice video card (Geforce 4) :P

Hey DemiGod I'm gonna post some Screenshots of Grandia 2 off my TVCard, Could you post some SS of similar spots in the game for me so I can get an idea of if the graphics are more crisp? :)

Sure, I could do that. I haven't gotten too far in the game though (I'm like right at the beginning).

Thanks a ton Demigod, After looking at the SS, It's really aparent that TV uses 60 HZ refresh rate and the quality VGA is obviously better, Wish I had a DC VGA card,

Anyhow. Here's a full screenshots. Aparently The PS2 version is a LOT more jagged than the DC version, and the DC does have some noticable jaggies.

Edit: Btw when comparing these Screenshots keep in mind that TV signal quality is significantly less than that of a Monitor so it's not as crisp. And it's more aparent on a computer monitor rather than a TV.

Good ole Elena :) you should have this spell by now to give it a go. Spells in Grandia 2 Are actually FMV intergrated into the gameplay.

Ingenius yes?

And Millenia. Oh la la. One of my favorite charactors from any video Game.

Oh and if you have not figured it out yet (hope this isn't a spoiler to you) The Voice of Ryudo is Leonardo From the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie and the voice of Millenia is Ariel From The Little Mermaid =p

Shiori

Does Ryudo say "Turtle Power!" when he attacks? ;)

I'm sure if the voices were that dire, there will either be an option to turn them off, or someone will hack it with new sounds

Oh ok, sorry, I missed it when I first read through the posts. Yay, my computer is fast enough to handle it!

Exodus

i don't know... i haven't seen any games that you can turn voices off in battle... but then again, i haven't played many. only ToD and ToP

Demigod

I don't really see any option to turn the voices off in Grandia 2. Still, the voices aren't annoying or anything. I think they fit the game nicely.

Exodus
March 20th, 2002, 21:51
the only voices i've ever wanted to turn off were the ones in Resident Evil DC. those were SO horrible

Ryos
March 20th, 2002, 22:03
There is no option to turn off the voices in the game. I weep. At least some of the actors kind of figured out what they were doing by the end of the game. ;)

Kane

It seemed a bit too sappy at the end for my tastes.

It was fun, but like I said, it became a bit sappy towards the end. That and the end of the game is too long.
Basicaly, they make you think you are right near the end of the game when in fact there is still about 5 hours of bosses left.

ChrisRay

heheh Kane, I like long endings, I like RPGS to last as long as they possibly can.

DarkAurora
March 21st, 2002, 15:55
It only took me 2 hrs to beat those end bosses and that's just because I died once.

DarkAurora

As for the voices, I liked them in Grandia 2. Even if you don't like the voices in Grandia 2, they only happen in big scenes (and in battles). The voices in Tales of Destiny 2 are horrid though. I'm glad I can take them off.

Exodus

i also usually hate when i get to the end of an RPG. i just want them to last forever... but then there are others that i wish were shorter so i could move on. once i start a game i try not to put it down until i'm done with it.

Kane

I like to get to the end of an RPG, there is a sense of achievement. Then again, it'd be nice to go straight into the sequel. I mean a proper sequel, not like FF or Chrono. Playing the same characters.

DarkAurora
March 22nd, 2002, 04:09
I plan on making an rpg series someday with the same main characters (you'll get different side characters in each game) and the storyline will connect with the other games but I'll make the game different enough to keep people interested in the series.

One person posted in this thread that they would put up PC Grandia 2 screenshots. Where are they???

Kane

get them from www.gamespot.com
I'd love to create an RPG series which the characters are immortal with respect to age. That way, you can have an epic tale during the first one, having the love story entwined within. Finishing up with them together at the end of the first ep.
They would then have..... difficulties inserted in the second episode, finishing with her sacrificing her life for, and proclaiming her love for the Hero.
The third episode would be more downbeat, but he is being comforted by another member of the party (think Tifa).
Each time, the plot is different, and each time it can be set in a new age, but the underlying love theme would couple the games together.
