Nvidia Detonator beta drivers are out. Get em at www.3dchipset.com www.reactorcritcal.com is down and www.m3dzone.com will probably have them as well (I didn't check). I got mine at 3dchipset. The info says that D3D users may notice a performance increase. Get em while they're hot.
I'll be testing mine later and will post tomorrow and let everyone know what I have found out.:D

*sigh* just installed them on my GeForce 3 machine, they still haven't fixed that problem with gaps between tiles on static 2D backgrounds like those found in squaresoft games when FSAA is enabled. Damn I really wish Nvidia would fix that bug.

They did seem to up my 3Dmark 2001 scores though, for whatever that's worth.

On my GeForce 2 system, nothing much seems to have changed, infact recent driver releases have seemed to actually decrease my performance a frame or two with my GF2, I think I'm going to stop bothering with new drivers on my GF2 sysrem, unless a new directX is released.

12.41 was also released..

Nvidia is also seemingly trying to fight leaked drivers, take a look (http://www.nvidia.com/Marketing/Developer/DevRel.nsf/General/RegSiteReopened).

Thanks CD for the link and info. I'll just continue to get them as long as they are made available. 12.60 work great, just as well as 12.40, maybe a little better.

I tryed the 12.60 drivers today and thay worked pritty good probably same as 12.40 except for 1 problem with the win2k driver, it wouldn't let me switch my anti aliasing manually, if i selected it, all the options(2x 4x etc.) would just stay grayed out....

I've heard that the 12.41 drivers are better for the GF2. Or 12.00 may be the best. Pick one of those, unless you get some better benchmarks with others.

Tried em all, but not 12.60 - maybe download it later. But IMO, the one thats fits me is only the 758 - I have 3dmark 2001 score ; 2065 with GF2MX

Mmm... you have a nice system CDBuRnOuT, I get 2250 in Win2k with my overclocked Athlon 700 (with 12.60 detonators) :( May be time for upgrade.

I'm just wondering what kind of performance increase there is between the official 12.41 drivers and the beta 12.60 ones.

Has anyone tested and seen an improvement in performance when they went from 12.41 to 12.60?

I switched from 12.60 drivers to "offical" 12.41 drivers and have noticed no difference. No loss of speed, color, or performance. The weird thing is, I downloaded them directly from Nvidia and installed them, but DX 8 still says they are not certified and they are supposed to be (the 12.41s that is). Does anyone know what is going on? On Nvidia's site it even says that the 12.41 Detonator Drivers are WHQL certified by MS for DX 8. But DX 8 says they aren't.:( Very very starnge.

Did you install the 12.41 over the previous 12.60 drivers?

Or did you uninstall the 12.60 drivers first from add/remove, then reboot and install the 12.41 drivers?

I've noticed that some driver versions come with extra stuff whereas other versions don't, what could be happening is that you haven't uninstalled the 12.60 drivers before installing the 12.41 drivers and there are some resident files left over from the 12.60 drivers and thats why its saying it isn't WHQL certified.

And so its seeing these non-certified 12.60 resident files left over and its telling you the drivers aren't certified.

Just a guess though.

You could check out www.geforcefaq.com (http://www.geforcefaq.com) that usually has the answer for just about anything GeForce related.

You could try a total uninstall of your drivers then a install of the 12.41 drivers, see for this.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Sound logical to me.

I didn't notice any difference between 12.41 and 12.60 speed wise, seemed about the same in 3dMark2001.

i've usein the 12.41 drivers now, and for me thay seem a bit more stable for some reason than the 12.40 drivers

SanDRock, does DX say that your 12.41 drivers are certified. My DX still says that they are not and I tried what BOB said. It still did not make any difference. It still says that the drivers are not certified. Oh well, I'm not going to worry about it. They work great and I'm going to stay w/them.
