Ok, nulldc seems to be the only Dreamcast emulator that seems to work well, but is it true that there's no gamepad support for ANY current version of it? Is there any external plugin I can get or other way to use a gamepad?

Not true. There's support for controllers and even rumble on latest one.

Yep, just make sure you use the newest build and the PuruPuru plugin and all should be sweet.

Ah, didn't know about this. Sure enough, this worked.

If I can ask a second question, would anyone here happen to know why nullDC reads my rip of Space Channel 5 as a music CD and won't play the game? Is this a common issue?

For all versions of nullDC, just click "file", then click "normal boot", then select your game, then click "ok." Clicking on "no disk" instead of "ok" will bring you to the Dreamcast main menu, which can NOT be used to load games. It is used to change the date and time, as well as some VMU settings.
