View Full Version : Solar sensor support?

Since both of my DS emulators refuse to run Boktai, I'm using this.

However, after going through all the configuration settings, there appears to be no option to set the level the non-existent solar sensor should think it is getting.

I also did not find one in VBA. Will this possibly come up in a later version, or does someone have cheats I can use? I'll need them for all three games, including the fan-translated third game.

EDIT: Actually, as it turns out, even with cheats, the emulator needs to simulate the solar sensor, otherwise the game will say that the solar sensor is broken and not let you play it.

There is a solar sensor patch for those games which allows you to use the buttons to configure the levels. Perhaps do a search since I remember this from years ago and have no idea where to get them.

>>no$gba<< (http://www.easy-share.com/1910179161/no$gba-w.zip) is a GBA emulator which is capable of emulating non-existent solar sensor. Though, it is not very good when compared with VBA.
The sound is horrible, have several graphics problems with transparencies and its VERY uncomfortable to constantly stop the game to change the solar sensor settings.

If you want to emulate Boktai games with VBA you will have to get/apply the solar sensor patches that bypass the solar sensor existence check and allows you to change the solar sensor luminosity level by pressing buttons combinations...
