Hey...I can't get the thing to emulate anything. It doesn't even read the CD (Light never flashes). I'm using Pete's D3D, his SPU, and the TSG CD-driver (It works with every other emu). I have both the subs in the main directory (In fact, it d/l'ed that way). Any ideas why it won't even read the CD?

I used to have the same problem until I started using the Barret cd plugin. Now it works, but there aren't any MDECS. AT lease it plays!

frankly for the best results use petes plugins
all three of them the gpu, spu and the cd-r plugin....

Ok, here's something more detailed -

CD-ROM - Kenwood 72x True-x, at Drive E:

Plugins tried -
Pete's drivers - After 3 lockups on 3 random settings (including the auto), moved to others.

Tried the CD ctrl 1.01, and it doesn't even start up (DOS box comes up and closes right away)

TSG plugin - Something goes full-screen for a few seconds, no CD access, then I'm booted back to the desktop.

The other settings used -
Sector Cache - Disabled

Country - America

Speed - Fast (slider all the way to the right)

Other background info -

CPU - T-BIRD 900 Mhz
Audio - SBLive
Video - Voodoo3 3k
RAM - 128 PC100
HD - 20 GB (C:) & 10 GB (D:) both on primary IDE
CD's -

Master = Kenwood 72x (E:)
Slave = Creative PC-DVD Encoure 6x (F:)

All drives use UDMA

HW setup -

Compiler mode, no checks crossed, using SCPH1001.BIN

Plugins -

SPUNull used for compatability (Not Null2's)
For PAD's, both are NULL'ed
External MDEC's disabled, using Pete's D3D

Need any other info, plz let me know.

Looking at the (larger) post for FPSE, I've found more info to post. Just tried Barret's CD-R plugin, and the CD flashed (YEAH!)...however, after 4 games not even showing a starting screen, kinda disappointing. However, I noticed some ! marks in the DOS window, and ran it from a command line so I could actually read them when they appeared. The first ! mark states "No GTE acceleration is found - Forcing default engine"...it appears to keep going, then I see right after "Loading files...", a ! "Failed LibPS.exe loading.", and it closes. Also, more important info :) - I'm using Win98 SE...kinda forgot up above :o .

Failed LibPS.exe is fine, LibPS.exe is a PSX programming library, it's used with homebrewed PSX demos...

So if the failed LibPS.exe isn't the problem, what's causing it to close? :(

well try these settings and see if they work

and this one as well... use petes plugin for the best compatability ... all three --->spu, gpu, and the cd-r plugin

That got rid of the ! "No GTE acceleration found - Forcing default engine" - To be replaced by a . "Using portable GTE engine" (I think), but it's still closing immediately after displaying "opening console" :(

check if you got a working ASPI layer

open fpse from a console so you can post the fpse output

Ok, everyone put me in the hall of shame...I can't believe I did this. I think I've figured out the problem - On Pete's D3D, I hit "Nice" and forgot to change the colors from 32 bit to 16 bit and I'm using a Voodoo3 3k (Only capable of 16-bit). Someone shoot me :laser: Sorry :(
