Star Force (http://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=627&gid=3353#3353) is a simple arcade shooter from 1984. You shoot enemies as the game scrolls the field from the top to bottom. Areas are labeled by greek letters, which also represent the "End bosses" of each level; Alpha being level one, Beta level 2, etc.
It seems harder on the Wii than in MAME, and there seems to be more lives in the MAME version. The Wii version doesn't have as many options as the arcade game as far as settings, and you can't edit the controls.
Still 500 points for a very hard shooter could be worse spent, although now, thanks to Nintendo, your games aren't tied to your account, but tied to your Wii, so if your Wii breaks and you buy a new one, say bye bye to your digital games.
I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of this obscure game and really like it, but had I not played it on the Techmo pack for the XBOX, I'd never have tried this game on the Wii.
The graphics, sound, and music isn't very good, but what do you expect from a 1984 game?
