My favorite game of all....i cant wait till it gets remade on the PS2.... btw....i was thinking that maybe it should have some extra's or some more things put in it...what do u say??

Yes. FF7 needs a high-rez, high-poly count remake which actualy uses textures.

Newcomer Monolith soft is hard at work on what is shaping up to become one of the major RPG events of 2002: Namco's XenoSaga. Subtitled "Der Wille zur Macht" (The Will to Power), XenoSaga is a space-based fantasy RPG featuring massive mechs, anime-styled character designs and lots of cinematics. If it looks and sounds familiar, it should - It's actually directly related to Square's PS1 classic, Xenogears. But despite sharing characters and storylines (XenoSaga takes place many years before the events of Xenogears), the game is not an official prequel. Instead, the developers at Monolith, who left Square shortly after completing Xenogears, are starting the six-chapter story over from the very beginning. XenoSaga is due out in japan in February, with a U.S. release to likely follow

Xenosaga will be released in 6 episodes the 5th one being a remake of Xenogears...

And square has talked very much about remaking FF5-FF8 on the PS2

The PS2 won't be around by the time there's a remake (assuming there is one - I can only hope) of Xenogears. Maybe for the PS3 or something...

i think the ps2 will be around for at least 3 more years b4 thay bring out there ps3 (which i read is already almost done....if not already done)

Assuming the PS2 does last another three years, there still won't be enough time for them to get to Xenogears, unless Namco plans on pulling an Enix and releasing a major game after the system's dead.

u never know, thay still make regular ps1 games even tho ps2 has been out for like a year and a bit

+ thay could make like 1,2,3 for ps2 and if ps3 comes out bye then thay could make the rest for ps3
or ps3 could be backwards compatible like ps2 and play ps3,2 and 1 games and thay could just make'm all for ps2...

Xenosaga.
They may not make the PS3 backwards compat. It's dependent on 2 factors.
1) Can they minaturise the PS2 hardware enough to fit into a very small space?
2) If not, will the architecture of the PS3 be similar enough to the PS2 artictecture to "Emulate" it?

When I first got xenogears for ps1, I loved it because of the great graphics and the unreal story. :nod: But when I play it these days I hate the blocky graphics but still love the story. :emb: We will have to wait for the remake if there is one, but while Im waiting Ill be playing xenosaga :thumb:

when i first got xenogears for the ps1 I loved the awesome graphics and the unreal story. :wub: But when I play it now I hate the blocky graphics but still love the story. sounds weird that theyll make a remake, doesnt square enix own the rights of xenogears. namco cant just remake the game just like that can they?

anyway id rather see remakes of old snes games rather than psx games
