Pokemon Fire Red Error for VBA 1.8

I have the 1.8 VBA version and i like using it because of it's link option. I'm already near the elite 4 but i want to be able to save in game not in a save state.it keeps saying "please exchange the backup memory" like everyone else has already stated.I tired changing it to FLASH 128k but i still can't save. PLEASE DON'T TELL ME TO PRESS SHIFT+F?

p.s. the 1-m circuit board thing keeps popping up. Should that mean anything?

Try playing with 1.7.3L it's also a link version. And if that doesn't work try dumping your game again;)

Import your save going to "File" -> "Import" and you'll import your save. :D
