You should get it? They are very fun cars. And make sure you get the manual. On full throttle upshifts it presses your head into the seat. I had four friends on the way to a party, and I took a fast corner and changed up mid corner. The tail kicked out, and I turned into the corner with opposite lock rally style. It was awesome! The best part? One of my friends had face pplanted into the side glass :D

Later on I might put better wheels on mine.

I want to, but I've also liked not having any car payments since late 2004. The other downside is that my car doesn't seem to be worth too much (2003 Ford Focus) even though it's in good shape and below-average miles. Kelley Blue Book lists mine at about $4,500 for private party, $3,000 trade-in. Yay American cars. So yeah, I'd end up having to pay quite a bit and/or get a bigger loan than I'd like to, and considering I just took a 12.5% pay cut at work, I don't think it would be the best decision right now.

As for the manual, I wouldn't have it any other way. I've been ranting about my car having an automatic for years. I'm even a follower on Car and Driver's "Save the Manuals" page on Facebook :p. I wanted a manual originally, but my dad wouldn't let me. Due to the money for the car being in my savings account and having joint signatures required for it (this was before I was 18), I had to go with whatever he dictated.

Am a Jehovah Witness(my wife as well) and i would chase Ahielia :evil: i would talk about the Bible at the beginning but then we would probably end talking about emulation, games or programming lol.

i always make lots of jokes here or post stuff that makes me look different but i do take my religion quite serious... however i do respect other people opinion and choices when it comes to that topic.

Yes i'm... am a baptised Jehovah Witness since 1997. i started reading the scriptures and following my religion since 1993 but started to take it seriously in 1996. i have to admit my religious life has been going up and down and i've made serious mistakes i personally regret. however if there is one thing i've learned from it then is to take more control of my temper which has helped me a lot even if i still have to work harder on that part. even if my religious life has decreased considerably recently i still take it very serious and am planning to change that as well as my wife since we both love our religion.

obviously there are people out there that do not share the same views but i think everyone is free to choose what to believe and what not. in my case am a believer because i've found peace in my soul even if i need to work harder to keep it that way. tbh if it weren't for my religion i would be a crack junkie out there who would be in jail right now with at least few charges for crime and few people that are alive now would be probably dead.

The reality is am a peaceful person right now(well i do my best) and have a wonderful family i love and that's what matters. my temper is not yet fully controled but i've gained an awesome control by changing my life after reading the scriptures and with the help of my religious brothers.

My wife was raised as a JW since her entire family is JW. in my case i was raised with catholicism/budaism and since young years i had some doubts about few points such as Jesus is Jehovah and so on which i didn't agree. at a later time my lovely aunt started to learn the scriptures and study with JW so i asked if i could ask few questions to them and they accepted(my aunt and me are the only JW from my side). to my surprise they answered my questions and had the same view i had even before i even heard about them.

I wish that was true but its not, at least here jehova witnesses just wont understand no (no offense @ruantec your okay but the ones here are loonies), of course at first i said "no" politely (usually i had to say a freaking "no" about 5 times and then close the door in their faces eventually, otherwise they just wouldn't get a hint) so got tired of it all and after becoming a di... and more agro they managed to get the hint and they finally leave us alone. After you keep getting harased by this people both at home and on the streets you start getting iritated so i can understand Ahielia's frustration. If they want to try and spread there religion that its fine i don't mind, but do it without constantly nagging people...

^ Totally agree with that point Strike105X. sadly many of our brothers are that way and annoy people easily. tbh i would be annoyed too if someone do not understand a "NO". however not everyone is the same... in my case i never start a conversation unless am in the preaching service and even then i ask and if they say "NO" then its no and there is no reason to bother them. People are free to choose to listen or not and there is no reason to force them to believe what i believe.

What's the cheapest motherboard that's halfway decent & compatible with an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T? Via a friend I came into this processor, along with some RAM and a case, and being the businessman I am, I want to make a profit selling this as a performance computer.

Depends what kind of DDR, for DDR2 i'd say mine Gigabyte MA770-UD3, DDR3 the cheapest good quality one you could get i think its MA770T-UD3P though that doesn't have USB3.0 for that you'd need a MA870-UD3 (with or without the "P"). The cheapest overall board for that CPU though would be the Asrock M3A770DE.

The CPU likely isn't going to fetch too much, reason being that it's not much of a performance chip. Everyone pretty much wants Intel for performance. Those who do want it will more be those who want the chip alone because it'd be a drop in and cheap replacement to upgrade their existing AMD setup/board, so you're actually probably better off not getting a board, and it's only going to fetch so much.

The RAM I'm more sure won't fetch much, at least if it's DDR3. When 16GB of DDR3 can be had for $60, and although that's a sale price, unless you have a lot of it (like 8GB to 16GB of it), you're better off holding onto it because it'd get you so little comparatively. If that's like 4GB or something, it's literally probably worth like $15 (unless it's serious performance stuff). DDR3 RAM is kind of next to worthless in the used market. If it's DDR2 and you have what would be a lot of it for DDR2 (like 8GB), it's worth a small bit, but most RAM has become next to worthless with the way excessive amounts of it are so cheap in the new market.

Don't let me tell you it can't be done though. Good luck with it.

I don't expect to get a whole lot out of the computer, but considering all I need is a motherboard and graphics card, if I spend $100 on that, and $65 on a GeForce GTX260 someone is selling me, and sell it for $500 (doesn't seem unreasonable), I'm still making a decent profit.

Oh, well you made it sounded like you'd need a graphics card, PSU, hard drive, etc., etc. Perhaps in that case, go for it. That's not a bad price on the video card and since you have much of it free/lying around, you'll probably make a good return anyway.

If you do go that route, I advise to stay away from MSI boards. They have really infamous issues with their VRMs going up on the AMD side, and with a high draw Phenom II X6, especially if it gets overclocked, that spells disaster. It's almost guaranteed to happen. It's not only MSI boards you have to watch either, though you greatly lessen your chances with other brands, although anything budget level with lower end phase/VRMs is less able to handle higher draws. I'd suggest to get something with cooling on the MOSFETS/VRMs (around the CPU socket area) to be safe.

I wouldn't pair that CPU and GPU with any old budget PSU you have kicking around either...

You wont really find a cheap board with mosfet cooling, the ones that have that are 890 cips and above, actually there is one cheaper, the GIGABYTE 970A-UD3, but other then that all are more beefy in price, with the gigabyte boards i listed in my earlier post you can get a decent OC even if the mosfets don't have cooling but if you want to provide something safer and go cheaper then just get one of the gigabyte boards in the above post and buy a Ezotech mosfet radiator for them, since its quite cheap (wont work with asrock, asrock like i said its quite low quality, i said it only if you want to just trow in something cheap with some decent OC abilities and be done with it, since its going to have warranty anyway and you wont worry about it).

Well like i said if you do want to provide some quality at a very good/smallest price, then trow in one of the Gigabyte MA770T-UD3/P boards (870 for USB 3.0), if you don't give a smack then go with an Asrock M3A770DE, cheap board that handles itself good but not recommended for the long run or better said long run OC due to the fact that its not with solid state caps or with quality parts, just has good chips (still the motherboard warranty will clear you of any issue).

You may get less, but throwing it together with some cheap board and who knows what you have laying around to someone who doesn't know any better sounds like a recipe for disaster. You might not try overclocking, but the seller may, and any lower end board won't have the power circuitry to hold up.

The "UD" series is the "Ultra Durable" series. The GIGABYTE 970A-UD3 is a board with 8+2 phase with passive cooling, while the board you listed is a 4+1 phase with no cooling at all.

Generally, those are boards you want to avoid. Referencing OCN, it doesn't appear in the list compiled here (http://www.overclock.net/t/943109/about-vrms-mosfets-motherboard-safety-with-125w-tdp-processors/0_20) about real world failures. On the list detailing the specifics of the power capabilities (http://www.overclock.net/t/946407/amd-motherboard-vrm-information-list/0_20), they say overclocking is okay if passive cooling is added, and it's supposedly rated for support up to 140W (at stock, I think that's a 125W TDP CPU).

In other words, it's a so-so mid range board, but if pushing a six core overclocked Phenom II is the goal, I'd watch it and follow the recommendation there. I would advise the buyer about this because this sort of stuff has led to fires. If they're going to run it at stock though, it'll be fine.

Edit: This board is $5 more and has passive MOSFET cooling. It's 4+2 phase with passive cooling. It's still got the same 140W rating, but it has throttling in place to help the VRMs.

I mean, sure, I wouldn't doubt the possibility, but you have to wonder if those $1,000 gaming PCs with half that value at most are really selling for as much. I highly doubt most of them are.

They were realistically worth ~$120 or $130 at launch many months back, but they launched at $150 and it hurt many people's opinion of it (cheaper and faster GeForce GTX 460 768MBs could be had). Someone probably bought it thinking it was better than it was and cut their losses? Who knows. It is weaker than a GeForce GTX 460, but faster than a GeForce GTS 450. I wouldn't be surprised if the GeForce GTX 260 is faster or around par, and those were down to $100 new before they dried up many, many months back. That was a good deal you got, especially for it's relative age and condition though.

That's appalling. My laptop has similar specs (made in 2007) and it's no longer worth half that anymore afaik (can't find the original retail price). Anyway, I'm sure I can build a much higher end PC with half of that or less. Be like Eli and find bargains.

I never thought I'd say this but I'm officially tired of writing assembly vertex/pixel shaders. I can't get this stupid Cel-Shading in Direct3D to save my life... and it's the easiest thing to do too. Plus I need this project done within this month! From here on out it's Cg/HLSL or nothing. Whenever I need assembly shaders, I'll just get NVIDIA's Cg compiler to generate it for me....

0_o That odd glitch I had on my previous Windows Install is back...everything lags and stutters more after a boot until I reinstall the graphics drivers without rebooting. So either this always happens on Vista and others just don't notice or it's linked to the original drivers from the graphics card setup disc somehow. And clean installs don't fix it.

I always download new drivers each time i install windows (from ati website in case of VGA drivers), there's no real magic in making my connection to the internet just insert user and password :P. In a way i'm surprised my network card still has drivers, its the oldest component in my PC (besides the case), over 8 years old lol.

For the occasions that I need NIC drivers too, I use another PC to get them (from Broadcom, Marvell, Intel, Realtek, etc.), then transfer them with a USB drive. I'm a fanatic about using the latest available drivers, especially on a fresh Windows install.

These Dell Latitude laptops seem fantastically made. Bought a used D620 on Amazon, and I'm pretty damn impressed. Everything feels kinda precision engineered, and not just entirely slapped together like my old HP Laptop does. Funny, I like HP desktops, and Dell laptops.

Also the one I got has 3GB of ram, and it was supposed to come with 2GB. Not complaining.

Only real complaint is that the LCD seems to have a somewhat poor response time, not terrible but not the best I've seen. Then again, I just brought it in from my porch where UPS left it to face the elements. (Lovely that they left my $200 purchase sitting outside, but whatever). Supposedly coldness has a effect on LCD response time, so I'll see if it improves as it warms up.

Edit: Holy crap! It even has decent headphone output levels with no distortion. Most laptops I've used have headphone outputs that output at barely enjoyable levels, and sometimes with heavy distortion. Even the speakers in this thing sounds good.

Tomorrow my second D620 should be coming. Hopefully it's in as good of a condition. (Whatever one looks better is the one I'm giving my girlfriend for Christmas...)

I've explained this time after time after time after time again. My explanations clearly have no effect so therefore it's pointless to keep reiterating the same thing multiple times. I know you think my opinions are bogus, but there's a point where constantly showing your disagreements have no effect. I know that by experience, and not just on these forums. Therefore it's often a better idea to just let it go. But like it or not, my general views on the "American woman" thing are backed up by anecdotal, statistical, and scientific evidence. I don't believe what I believe simply because it's in writing, numbers and equations, but because I see it for myself first hand on a very frequent basis, as well as a large percentage of American men. If it wasn't generally true, then I wouldn't even consider it. Furthermore, I don't blindly disagree simply because it doesn't sound good. Honestly, I don't feel as if I'm constantly attacking anything. Others try to blow it out of proportion saying I do, and I'm sadly getting the same impression from you. It could be that I simply have a different preference.

RT #1: Seattle has not been getting any snow. We haven't gotten a single flake as of yet. I'm so happy that snow is not a big issue here. I don't like it, but others do. The other night (2 days ago), it had to have been about 45-50 degrees F outside. I walked to the Metropolitan Market and bought 2 big tilapia fillets as well as another fish I've never heard of. The Marine climate is so nice. Summers are not too hot, winters are not too cold, doesn't rain as nearly as much as Chicago or NYC either, and we still have tropical foliage thriving here; not naively, but it's thriving.

Hmm, interesting test. I didn't know of some of those conditions until now. I would say the schizotypal symptoms fit me very well. I work in a team where my collegues use professional personality tests on our test subjects. Those are 10 pages long, and include things that the rater has to look out for, eg. fidgety, habitual movement, taking long to answer questions, general behavioral impression, etc.
Those tests grant a clinical diagnosis, though.

Not directly, but relatively close. It's more to the right and down some. I actually just checked to get a better idea and looked for more, and found a second spot! Those rough areas of where the two spots are; not exact. The stuck pixel, by the way, is more towards the upper left. It's not fully stuck; only the Red sub pixel is (stuck off), and it barely bothers me. These two spots are hardly noticeable and bother me less visibly, but... I hate finding stuff wrong and not knowing what it means.

It's not right in the center, and it's not a dead pixel. I have a stuck pixel elsewhere, so I know what a stuck/dead pixel look like. What Phil says sounds more likely. It's like a cluster of pixels (coincidentally patterned in such an organized way even...) have their Red sub pixels stuck just ever so slightly on. They are very, very faint though (my little Paint example emphasizes it), and only noticeable on Black and if you look. I was just wondering what it was.

Why is that? Dead pixels are manufacturing errors, they rarely or never happen through regular use, unless you physically break the cell and the liqued escapees the grid. This can be done by taking a very sharp tip (like a razor blade) and pressing the screen.

No Miku ain't no boundary transition, graphically she is a graphic representation of the program, an iconic figure sort to speak and sound wise she's a synthesizer which allows anyone with some music talent to compose and release a song, there's nothing creepy about it. Its a way for a bunch of creators to transmit they're work without any real fancy studio or some pro singer working with them.

Its a old ASUS mobo and a Q6600 at 3GHZ. about 6 months ago i replaced the PSU with another one(don't remember the name right now) but it seems like the case fans are the problem since 2 of them have some nasty smell and maybe caused some internal short. i will check it out tomorrow since i had to take it out in order to prevent all my apartment to have such a bad smell :p
