Dr. isn't happy with my body's progress. My liver levels were higher than an average person's as a bad side effect from my current treatment. It concerned him so I got my blood drawn again. We'll see how it looks in a bit.

Ever deleted big files and not gotten the space back? Well that happens to me a lot. On all systems and all operating systems. Sometimes you get the space back when you then restart (or rather I'd say usually) since that automatically unlocks the files from the Explorer process that's usually the culprit but sometimes the files are just gone yet the space they used remains full. They somehow don't get out of the recycle bin eventhough you cleared it and it's registering as empty.

Work's been slow today. Some servers couldn't stand the heat apparently and went down, they've only been up since 1pm or so. Been killing spambots and reading the internet for most of the time.

I'm sorry to hear the stress has been having such negative effects on you. If you need a well trained (yet not overly abused) liver we should try to grow one out of mine. It works for plants that way, and we're organic too, so it's worth a shot.

In any case, keep your head up and keep your smile, it makes life more bearable even in the harder times :)

I never have that problem plus I recommend you use Crap Cleaner or Tuneup utilities.

Odd. Anyways it seems to mainly/only happen with media files. Especially with big 4-5GB AVIs.
And it's not a virus. It happens on all systems I've ever used with all OSs. Though only after a a long though generally that it starts happening and it may also depends on the ages of the OS since I don't use fresh installs anywhere near as often as you guys.
Anyways the problem also exists online so I'm not the only one.

schui doesn't seem to clear the temp folder and clear the clutter in the docs and settings folder.
some games have huge save files and some avs store the quarantine files there.

Go into the registry and clear the HKey's pointing to the reference folder. Problem solved.

Actually the solution is to unhide system files and then delete the $recycle.bin folder. Or if you still haven't restarted the system then Unlocker may be able to help you unlock the file/s from the Explorer process.

Note by the way there's a difference between hidden files (those are set to show) and hidden system files (which are an even deeper level). I pretty much never need to get at the files in that second deeper level so they mainly just take up visual space.

Weren't you the one with the Ultra LSP or was that someone else? If so, you're lucky if it didn't harm anything else. The poorer PSUs are often far more incapable of handling incoming surges very well like that. Did you try jumping the PSU to make sure it was the cause (even though it most like is)? Good choice on the replacement though.

I am the person who had the Ultra LSP, but that particular series has a generally good rep. It went out during a power surge and I'm pretty sure its dead.(tested it out of pc with paper clips, the bottom fan spins once or twice and turns off, and I can smell the burntness in it) Though I did have it plugged in to a surge protector ><.....luckily nothing else I had plugged in fried(ps3,2 monitors,router,net modem).

There doesn't appear to be any signs of the mobo being fried(no burn marks or anythng) and like I said earlier I saw the green light on the mobo go on when I tried to boot it.
Is there any sure fire way to tell if the mobo is damaged without testing it? My mother apparently trashed the PSU it came with. -___-

I didn't get a chance to test it until 2 days after it burnt out(power outage lasted long), So I'm not sure if smelling is very reliable(though the case has a faint smell of burntness, I can't smell it if I put my nose close to the mobo).

Even UPSs don't really like surges. It's best to put a surge protection plug into the wall socket and then link the UPS up to that. That way the UPS doesn't have to deal with the stress of the surge either but your computer doesn't just randomly turn off when that surge protection plug kills the power since for those few seconds the UPS can take over.

That's why I'm overcareful with my PC!:D I have a surge protector but I still pull the plug whenever I hear even a distant thunder strike. I also unplug it just in case when I leave the house(unless I'm going to the store just nextdoor) and when I go to sleep.:laugh:

Unfortunately, there are no reviews from any of the reputable sites on those specific units. However, the LSP is known and claimed from those with much more knowledge than either of us to fit the description I listed above. The recent LSX units, however, are okay, as are the old X3 and X4 units (but they're old now and weren't priced too well). The X2 units were some of their worst (providing half of it's claimed power when tested), and the LS and LSP units weren't much better.

There's two types of storms. Those I don't care about and annoy me, and those I love and find almost peaceful and relaxing. It depends on my mood, but I still categorize my storms.

I was laying down and it just started raining, not too hard but not too light, and the sky was constantly (not exaggerating, literally) flashing (heat lightning for those who want further reading).

I like those kinds of storms. It wasn't windy so I was able to open my window without fear of rain drenching my room. Some of the flashes were close and had loud thunder with them, which normally doesn't bother me, but when the majority of the storm is quiet and it disrupts the peach, it startles you.

Now the storms gone and I'm sad. I can still hear some thunder in the far off distance even though the rain and lightning stopped like twenty or thirty minutes ago at least.

I stopped eating McDonald's years ago because it made me feel sick after, but a few days ago I ate one of there burgers for the first time in 5 years.

What happened next was quite unexpected, I not only LOVED it, but am :drool: for the next chance to buy one.

I HATE McDonald's burgers too normally (makes me feel sick), but this newer burger is quite incredible.

It doesn't use cheap beef and salads (like most of there burgers), it only has quality meat and salads in it.

Even the bun tastes nice (not like there normal sugar filled ones)

Ah, that sounds nice :) actually that's the reason why i love the Dominican Chimi. the burger isn't made in a place like McDonalds but mostly on the streets or just made by friends that want to have some fun while drinking some beer or rum as it basically belongs to the country tradition lol. the magic about the burger is what it contains(obviously there are places that use cheap stuff) and in every place i bought one there they used quality meat, salad and a incredible sauce and you obviously taste the difference like in your case with the grand Angus over there where normal McDonalds products just fall millions of miles behind :)

Oh yeah! That stuff is fantastic after a good night. Although the garlic sauce makes the dehydration even worse the other morning. Don't forget to open up a window too as soon as you come home. Few things are as bad as waking up after such a night, heading to the toilet, and noticing the smell over there was a lot more pleasant as soon as you move back to bed.

And yes, I have to admit that such places often have much better stuff than these mass production chains. The quality and hygene may vary though.

What your talking about is called a Kebab here. (Very nice when cooked on the BBQ) What I am talking about is a "Donar Kebab" which originates from Turkey niku.

I got sprayed with piping by piping hot coolant today. :D

Friend of mine (who is actually paying me and not expecting a free ride) brought his car to me because it was overheating. When it gets to me the temperature was all the way to the maximum the gauge can display - so I leave it sit there for 45 minutes, come back... Feel the hoses, they are luke warm. Same with the radiator. Figured I could safely open the radiator cap -- WRONG. Nice hot coolant shower!

Luckily I wasn't seriously burned, but damn that car must have been running REALLY hot for it to be that pressurized nearly an hour later. I mean, I've (carefully) opened the radiator caps of cars that were running pretty hot and not got sprayed like that.

The problem turned out to be a clogged radiator, so that would explain some of the pressure, but still.

Same thing happened to me in 1997 with Hurricane Danny. My very first custom-built PC and all of the surges killed the power supply. Worse, power was out for nearly a week, so after everything was over, I assumed everything was fine and tried to turn it on. Nothing happened. "Did I unplug it? No, still plugged in." Took another week and a half to deliver a new one because UPS didn't want their drivers on the messed up roads not able to make deliveries in some areas.

Although I'm not saying it's a "good" thing, but rather a Diamond in the rough or Silver lining sort of ordeal, but his PSU that got taken out was a bad one anyway (Ultra LSP), and now hes getting a much better one (Corsair CX430), so he'll end up better off.

I know what he means by it not being the same getting on via other methods though. Even using one of my older PCs, it doesn't feel like "home".

The Corsair CX430 V2 is actually better. It is tweaked for slightly more effeciency, but more than that, I think one of the rectifiers or something was beefed a little, giving it more proper +12V rail output as to what it should/claims, or some such.

Anyway, I'm not trying to poke at it. The one you had truly was a pretty poor unit. I'd just take it as a learning experience. We all learn through experience. Most of the people following PSUs now do so because of that (having had a garbage one at some point or another). I killed a PSU and/or motherboard learning. I bought a Thermaltake TR2 430W in learning.

Anyway, yeah, the one you have now is much better.

As for other parts being hurt, well, there's not many ways to be sure without a working PSU. A good PSU will have far less of a chance of hurting other parts due to how well they handle that sort of thing. With that one though, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't fear the worse just yet.

Become a selling Demon in December. I nearly cleared $3,000 in December once. Just remember that if you have a business account like me, fees mount fast. Damn, there is this girl I want to ask out or at least exchange phone numbers but I am afraid. :(

I just don't think many accept me because of being overweight and socially awkward, I am trying to lose weight and improve unfavorable aspects of my life. I just wish people could look past that for the fact I am trying and my other qualities but society isn't always accepting or nice.


The odds seem to be against you.

You are shy and socially clumsy, you have no experience in coping with intense stress and pressure that you most likely will have to endure, you have little understanding of the technicalities of how to ask a girl out and no reference memories to keep you straight if things get tough.

You know what, you must do it.
You want to date her and the only possible way of that happening is for you to do what you must do.

If you don't take steps regularly to reach out for the type of life you want, you lose self respect.

The people who attain everything they set out to do are just the people willing to fight through MORE failure than others and keep going ahead.

The technique I came up with to do things I found new and tough to start is to remove outcome justification. You might ask her out and she might be a complete cow and insult you but this possibility must not influence you to not make a full and passionate attempt.

Most people will make a token approach like start a conversation then let it die so their brain can cope with the failure if it happens. You must be a man and act like a man who is asking her on a date.

Since you have no decent level of sarging the hell out of birds (like every normal man) the highest chance you have of winning is to be yourself. Don't fake the things you like or sway the topic from your passionate interests, don't accept b1tch like behaviour. Speak to her like you speak to us but with heavy flirting and directly showing her the frame is sexual or nothing.

Good luck bro, the first thousand for me were like walking in front of a bus. It's cool to get hurt or ****e yourself. <3

X, I've never been overly confident about myself either, which has lead me to belief I'd have to be lucky in order to get a date. Oh yeah, I can certainly talk, it's easy for me to make friends, but as soon as it's about a girl I really like, I would choke and wouldn't know where to start on how to get in contact in the first place. Heck thinking of it like this makes it seem like my first swimming lessons, fearing the water badly and not wanting to go underwater at all.

This attitude where I wrote myself off as most likely not being interesting to the girl I wanted has left me with quite some regrets in my life. There's been several instances where if I had actually gotten my act together, I would've had what I desired. This has learned me two things:
- No pain no gain: A half assed attempt will result in nothing, friend zone material at best
- Living with regrets sucks: Don't end up asking yourself the "what if" for many years to come when you really like her. It's far better finding out it will never work than having secret desires for a long time.

Now I'm not saying I turned all pimp all of a sudden, but I definitely feel a lot better despite my physical shape not being that good at all. But I do know there's a girl out there who I like a lot, and I'm not going to let any opportunity slip through my hands that might bring us closer. And opportunities can be created, forget about the difficulties, because there will always be many, they're irrelevant, all you need to do is seize the moment.

Stupidity doesn't enter into what X2DM at all. If you can find the appropriate image macro then just post your thoughts don't use one that kind of gets it right but isn't appropriate for the situation...Heck there was a time where even plain image posting would have been frowned upon regardless of whether ontopic or not.

Yeah I reported it considering it isn't the bin. Frankly I am getting tired of his nonsense, I've never done anything to him to deserve such treatment. It's like I am being lumped in with the spammers, trolls, line skirters and rule breakers which don't even get this type of treatment.

I always been kind, caring, compassionate and looking out for the best interest of others. I am not sure what I've done to upset him so much and he isn't willing to talk about it either so what am I to do?

He has me blocked on Steam, Facebook and MSN and for what?

I've been patient enough and gave him plenty of cool down time and he still persists with this bullcrap. It's been nearly three friggin months that I left him alone just so he could come back to his senses. It doesn't matter what I do to try to prove myself just to gain back his friendship, it all seems futile anyways.

This is not acceptable behavior from grown men. I am tired of letting this go on without saying anything when I am completely innocent. This silliness has gone on long enough and I am not going to ignore it any longer.

By the way, stupider is not a real word. It is a convoluted word that is blasphemy to the English language, a word commonly used by children and unintelligent folks. I am not upset by the post, actually that made me chuckle a bit. What I am upset about is dealing with all of this bullcrap for the past few months when I've done absolutely nothing at all to him.

I've always considered him a friend and have shown I care, it's just driving me crazy. If he has some problem with me he needs to man up and discuss it with me. Real men work through their problems, children kick, scream and throw tantrums fighting you tooth and nail.

@XDM: take Kaizen's advices that's one of his best advices and posts i must say, i mean if you don't do it you'll be single and as time goes by, you will end up thinking: "damn, why didn't do it" and you'll be filled with regret, but if you ask her out and the worst case scenario happens and she refuses, well it might not feel pleasant right atm, but you'll start to feel refreshed and liberated regardless, since you did try, and as time goes by, you will not feel any regret, at max you'll say "damn what a egocentric cow that was", it was even harder for me for the first time cause i had some female relations before but those where not initiated by me but by them, so basically i had an idea what i'd be missing out if i get turned down and i even ended up getting turned down, but even then it felt liberating, because i had a clear picture i knew a bit of how to approach women better in the future and i felt better afterwards, eventually finding "other fish" in the lake and having some good and bad relationships. So don't sweat it and go forward.

I did send her a message on Facebook asking if she wanted to exchange phone numbers and hang out sometime. :D

The worse that can happen is she says no. Anyways if she says no it's not a big deal, I'm used to receiving no for an answer. I am starting to become more socially outgoing and it's becoming a bit easier for me to confront people and start up a conversation. The anxiety is still there though but I am trying to learn to cope with it and overcome it. I am overall more positive now and I have a job lined up so things are getting better. Confidence is important to have, the ladies like a confident guy, that's something I am working on. I've gone through so much crap in my life it's going to take a while to fully recover.

I am also trying to lose weight. I'm trying to have control and eat less, today I went out to eat and only had two small plates of food and a glass of lemonade. I was full after eating just that bit of food which is unusual for me. Down in my basement there are weights that I can use.

Nice to see you pushing forward in your life. Just don't get discouraged when things do go wrong - They will sometimes. I guarantee it. I've had a lot of bad s**t in my life, and half of the time it got worse before it got better, but with some hard work and a tad bit of luck it DID get better. Can't give up, man.

Yeah, if things do go wrong which they will as you said, just learn from those things and push forward. As soon as I start working I told my parents that I would take them out to dinner.

A random unrelated tidbit..

The other night we had a bat in the apartment. I have no idea how it got in since the windows had screens on them. I was on my computer and I yelled, "Bat!" to my roommate. We had to try to get the bugger out ourselves, it was flying around the apartment and just disappeared after a bit.

I go upstairs to look for the thing armed with a shovel and couldn't find it or get it to come out. I go downstairs to continue my search with no luck. I decide that maybe if I turned off some lights the bat would come out. So I go upstairs and start turning off lights, when I went to turn off the lamp in my roommates room on the second trip upstairs the bat was sleeping on the lamp shade.

So I head into the bathroom, grabbed my towel, put my hand in the towel and caught the bat with my hand in the towel. I then go out the door with the bat in the towel in my hand, whip the towel out to let the bat go and the bat flies away unharmed.

Bat's usually carry rabies and it was about midnight so I wasn't going to muck around too much trying to get it out. No idea how it got in, the windows have screens on them and the doors were closed. I would be risking more flying in by opening the screen, they like to hang around the apartment buildings and catch the bugs flying around at night.

How many times do I have to reject your friends request before you get the idea I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU!

1/ I DO NOT want to be an active member of your site so do not appreciate PM's here asking me to be more active there.

2/ I AM NOT the person who makes the decisions about when and where @ES gets announcements/releases first and REALLY HATE how I was treated like a traitor when you had your knickers in a knot over it being released here first.

3/ I asked you 1 year ago now if you could put something as a news post on your site and you lied and said you would. To this day it has not been posted there for me. (IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO DO SOMETHING, DO NOT LIE AND SAY YOU WILL)
